Appointment of Representative to the Waikato Hospital Board.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section fifteen of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, I, John Rushworth Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

H. Alan Bell, Esq.,

as representative of the combined district of Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Morrinsville, and Te Aroha Boroughs on the Waikato Hospital Board.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of November, 1923.

MANAWATU DRAINAGE BOARD.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that, at the poll of the ratepayers of the Manawatu Drainage District taken on the 8th day of November, 1923, on the proposal of the Manawatu Drainage Board to borrow the sum of four thousand eight hundred pounds (£4,800) for the purpose of widening, deepening, diverting, straightening, putting in flood-gates, and doing all such other works and acts as may be necessary for the purpose of improving the joint outlet, Whiskey Creek, Burke’s drain, and boundary drain,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 126 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 114 ; informal, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.
