SOUTH RAKAIA DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 2986, Town of South Rakaia. Bounded towards the north-east by Dunford Street, 1000 links; towards the south-east by Pitt Street, 501 links; towards the south-west by Michael Street, 1000 links; and towards the north-west by Tancr ed Street, 501 links.
Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 101 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 2537, situated in Block XIII, Rakaia Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the terrace of the Rakaia River (Reserve No. 1723) and by Rural Section No. 30133; towards the south-east by the West Belt of the South Rakaia Township, 758 links; towards the south-west by Normanby Road; and towards the north-west by Wolseley Road, 439 links.
Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 49 acres, more or less, and being part Reserve 2442, situated in Block XIII, Rakaia Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Normanby Road, 2000 links; towards the south-east by South Rakaia Suburban Lots 31 to 36, Block V, 2500 links; towards the south-west by the South Rakaia Road, 64 links; towards the north-west, again towards the south-west, towards the south, and again towards the south-east by other part of the said Reserve 2442, set apart as a site for a maternity hospital, 350 links, 250 links, 141·4 links, and 250 links respectively; again towards the south-east by the South Rakaia Road, 1636 links; and again towards the north-west by south Rakaia Suburban Lots 19 and 20, Block V, 2500 links.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan L. and S. 1/412, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 17th day of January, 1923.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one of the Waimakariri River Improvement Act, 1922, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby fix the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, as the date on which the Waimakariri River Improvement Act, 1922, shall come into force.

Extending Time for holding Biennial Election of Mayor of every Borough.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 17th day of January, 1923.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section twenty-four of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), that the election of Mayor of every borough shall be held on the last Wednesday in April in every year in which a general election of Councillors is held:
And whereas, in accordance with section forty-seven of the said Act, a general election of Councillors will be held on Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of April, nineteen hundred and twenty-three:
And whereas the last Wednesday in April, nineteen hundred and twenty-three, falls on Anzac Day, which under the provisions of the Anzac Day Act, 1920, as amended by the Anzac Day Amendment Act, 1921–22, shall be observed throughout New Zealand in all respects as if it were a Sunday:
And whereas the said election of Mayor of every borough accordingly cannot be held at the time required by the said Act, and it is expedient to extend such time:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section three hundred and seventy-nine of the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the said election of Mayor of every borough; and doth hereby declare that the said election shall be held, under the provisions of the said Act, on Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of April, nineteen hundred and twenty-three.

The Western Side of Portion of Road in the Horowhenua County exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 17th day of January, 1923.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Horowhenua County Council on the tenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, viz.:
“The Horowhenua County Council, having control of all that portion of the road running north from the Ohau Inland Road to the Ohau River abutting on Sections 8 and 20 of Subdivision 26, Ohau No. 3, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the said road”;
such portion of road being described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road situated in the Wellington Land District, Horowhenua County, abutting on Sections 8 and 20 of Section 26, Ohau No. 3, Block IV, Waitohu Survey District. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 53512, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Nelson City Council on the twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, viz.:
“That the Nelson City Council, being the local authority having control of the street in the City of Nelson known as Kawai Street, hereby resolves that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that portion of the street fronting Sections 656 and 657 on the plan of the City of Nelson”;
