A PROCLAMATION.
I N pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rush-
worth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as a road the land in
Waitara Survey District described in the First Schedule
hereto; and also do hereby proclaim as closed the road
described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND PROCLAIMED AS A ROAD.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road :
1 acre 0 roods 2·7 perches.
Portion of part Sub. 2a part Section 2 ; coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ROAD CLOSED.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed : 1 acre
1 rood 39·6 perches.
Adjoining or passing through part Sub. 2a part Section 2 ;
coloured green.
All situated in Block III, Waitara Survey District (Tara-
naki R.D.). (S.O. 6004.)
All in the Taranaki Land District; as the same are more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 57010,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of July,
1923.

Proclaiming Native Land to have become Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia,
that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land
has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under
the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-
General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become
Crown land :
And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the
Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of
the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909,
and its amendments :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of
the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, John Rushworth,
Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the Native land set out in
the Schedule hereto has become Crown land.
SCHEDULE.
HEREHEREATAU B 2k Block, Clyde Survey District: Approxi-
mate area, 256 acres.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of July,
1923.

Opening Land in the North Auckland Land District for Sale
or Selection.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John
Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one
undred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for sale or selection on Monday, the first day of
October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three ;
and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may,
at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renew-
able lease ; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the
said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land
shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waitemata County.—Waipareira Parish.
SECTION 203 : Area, 7 acres 3 roods 12 perches. Capital
value, £155. Occupation with right of purchase : Half-
yearly rent, £3 17s. 6d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent,
£3 2s.
Weighted with £351, valuation for improvements consist-
ing of house, three rooms and scullery, £250 ; ploughing and
grassing, £34 ; outbuildings, £25 ; and fencing, £42.
Altitude ranges from 150 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level.
Undulating land, covered with fern and manuka scrub ; more
or less ploughable. Clay soil on clay subsoil, being part of
a worked-out gumfield. Watered by swampy gullies, and
water can also be obtained by sinking. Distant about two
miles from Swanson Railway-station.

General, this 23rd day of July, 1923.

Opening National-endowment Lands in North Auckland Land
District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John
Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national-
endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open
for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the first day
of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three,
at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule ; and I do also
declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject
to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waitemata County.—Waipareira Parish.
SECTIONS 262 and 263 : Area, 20 acres 1 rood 9 perches ;
capital value, £250 ; half-yearly rent, £5.
Weighted with £10, valuation for improvements consisting
of shanty 21 ft. by 12 ft.
The elevation ranges from 300 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level.
The section comprises undulating to hilly country, practically
all ploughable, in fern, manuka, and hakea. Soil is of clay,
resting on clay formation ; well watered by a spring and a
small creek. Situated on the dividing range between Swanson
and Henderson Valley. Access is from Swanson Railway-
station, which is about two miles distant by a formed road,
one mile and a quarter of which is metalled.
Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.
Section 286 : Area, 87 acres 2 roods 14 perches ; capital
value, £440 ; half-yearly rent, £8 16s.
Section 287 : Area, 49 acres 0 roods 28 perches ; capital
value, £245 ; half-yearly rent, £4 18s.
Altitude, 40 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Undulating fern
and manuka country, three-quarters ploughable. Soil brown
loam of medium quality, on clay subsoil ; poorly watered by
swampy gullies which may dry in summer-time. Distant
about two miles and a half from Riverhead by formed cart-
road not metalled.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hobson County.—Tutamoe Survey District.
Section 24, Block XIII : Area, 104 acres 3 roods 35 perches ;
capital value, £160 ; half-yearly rent, £3 4s.
Weighted with £56 5s., valuation for seventy-five chains
fencing.
Section 26, Block XIII : Area, 138 acres 2 roods 1 perch ;
capital value, £180 ; half-yearly rent, £3 12s.
