Captain S. H. Crump, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority as from the 1st January, 1920, next below Captain D. H. W. H. Donaldson.
THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant-Colonel N. Falla, C.M.G., D.S.O., relinquishes command of the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade, and is appointed to command the 2nd N.Z. Field Artillery Brigade. Dated 7th May, 1923.
2nd Lieutenant W. Moir to be Lieutenant (11th Battery). Dated 11th May, 1923.
2nd Lieutenant E. L. Y. Cockroft (11th Battery) resigns his commission. Dated 11th May, 1923.

The commission granted Lieutenant C. T. Wildsmith (2nd Battalion) is cancelled under section 5 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909. Dated 9th May, 1923.

The commission granted Captain R. P. Jones (1st Battalion) is cancelled under section 5 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909. Dated 11th May, 1923.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Colonel J. R. Purdy, C.B.E., M.B., (d), is retired under the provisions of paragraph 126, General Regulations, 1913, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 7th May, 1923.
The commissions granted the undermentioned are cancelled under section 5 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909. Dated 5th May, 1923 :

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Waimea, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £3,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Waimea taken on the 9th day of May, 1923, on the proposal of the Waimea County Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of purchasing freehold land and for the erection of county offices thereon, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 382, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 730.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
Dated at Nelson this 14th day of May, 1923.
