WAIPUKURAU BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of Waipukurau Borough was taken on the 26th April on the question of borrowing £14,000 for the purchase of land and the building and equipping of a municipal theatre and shops.
The result was as follows: For the proposal, 176; against the proposal, 150; informal, 17.
I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mangere East Public Hall and Recreation Ground Loan Special Rating Area in the Mangere Riding of the County of Manukau, taken on the 21st day of April, 1923, on the proposal of the Manukau County Council to borrow the sum of £3,500 for the following objects:—
(a.) The purchase of a site and the erection of a public hall thereon .. .. .. .. £ 2,750
(b.) The purchase of a recreation-ground, and laying out same .. .. .. .. 750

the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 162, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12; informal, 3.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Amending Notification fixing Open Season, North Canterbury Acclimatization District.
WHEREAS by notification dated 6th April, provision was made for an open season for the taking or killing of native and imported game in the North Canterbury Acclimatization District for the period and subject to the conditions specified therein: And whereas it is desirable to amend such warrant:
Now, therefore, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, do hereby declare that native and imported game may not be taken or killed in those portions of R.S. 2474, 4804, and 6012, being the flat land adjoining Okute and Little River Streams and Lake Forsyth.
As witness my hand this 18th day of May, 1923.

Notification of Approval of Amended Rule, Waipu Acclimatization Society.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 25 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I hereby notify that a copy of an amended rule made by the Waipu Acclimatization Society on the 21st day of April, 1923, has been forwarded to me, and was approved on the 23rd day of May, 1923.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IX, Waihua Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block IX, Waihua Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Mohaka, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 acre 0 roods 17 perches.
Being portion of Mohaka No. 32, Block IX, Waihua Survey District (Hawke’s Bay R.D.). (S.O. 740.)
In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 56559, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured yellow.

Licenses to Act as Native Interpreters revoked.

Fixing Fees for the Examination of Plans and Specifications of New Ships.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 51 of the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Act, 1909, and section 12 of the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Act, 1922, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Marine, do hereby direct that the fees set forth in the Schedule hereto shall be payable for the examination of plans and specifications of a ship under the said section.
