Boundaries of the City of Christchurch altered.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1923.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS a petition has been presented to the Governor-General, under section one hundred and thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, praying the Governor-General to alter the boundaries of the City of Christchurch by including therein the area described in the Schedule hereto, comprising a portion of the County of Heathcote:

And whereas a notice, showing the proposed alteration in boundaries of the said city, has been gazetted and publicly notified:

And whereas objections in writing against such alteration were lodged:

And whereas after inquiry and report by a Commission appointed under the said section a poll was taken under the provisions of the said section on the thirty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, on the proposal to include the said area in the City of Christchurch, and the result of that poll was in favour of the said proposal:

And whereas it is expedient to make the desired alteration:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, the area described in the Schedule hereto now comprised within the County of Heathcote shall be included in the City of Christchurch.

SCHEDULE.

AREA INCLUDED IN CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.

ALL that area in the Bromley Riding of the Heathcote County commencing at a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch at the junction of the north-western side of Buckley’s Road with the south-western side of Canal Reserve Road; thence south-easterly along the city boundary to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the land in D.P. 1957; thence north-easterly across the last-named road and along the said boundary to McGregor’s Road; thence diagonally across that road; thence north-easterly along the south-east side of McGregor’s Road to the road-angle opposite Kearney’s Road; thence across the road and along the north-western side of Kearney’s Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the land in plan T 48938; thence across Kearney’s Road and along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the land in the said plan T 48938 to Page’s Road; thence across that road and south-westerly along the north-western side of Page’s Road and Buckley’s Road to the point of commencement.

Consenting to Land being taken for the Purposes of a Native School in Block XII, Mangaoporo Survey District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1923.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for the purposes of a Native school, portion of such land being occupied by buildings.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land being taken: 5 acres. Being portion of Paraauamu No. 3, situated in Block XII, Mangaoporo Survey District (Poverty Bay R.D.). (S.O. 994, brown.)

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 56269, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged pink.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1923.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made, under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loans.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made under section thirty-nine of the Finance Act, 1921–22, for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the local authority mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sum of money set out therein for the purpose named: And whereas it is expedient that such consent should be given:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing of the said sum of money by the said local authority as set out in the Schedule hereto.
