THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

- The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely,
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) Bookmakers' clerks, bookmakers' assistants, and book-makers' agents.
(c.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association.
(d.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
(e.) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house-breaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908; and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.
Provided always that the Stipendiary Stewards' Committee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.
The foregoing regulations of the Marlborough Racing Club were made and passed by such club on the 17th day of November, 1922, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of Β£5,000, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, and the Housing Act, 1919, for the purpose of the erection of workers' dwellings in the City of Wellington, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one one-hundred-and-fiftieth of a penny (1/150d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the WAIKATO FLAX-MILLING COMPANY (LIMITED).
THE following special resolution was duly passed by an entry made in the company's minute-book in pursuance of section 168, subsection (6), of the Companies Act, 1908, namely:
"That the Waikato Flax-milling Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily; and that WALTER ERNEST FUSSELL, of Wellington, Accountant, and ALEXANDER ROSS, of Foxton, Flax-miller, be appointed Liquidators for the purpose of winding up the company and distributing its assets."

BUSINESS.-To receive final report of Liquidator in connection with the winding-up of the company.

to that part of the Auckland Racing Club's property situated in the City of Auckland and Town District of Ellerslie, and known as the Ellerslie Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings. - These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.
- In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "racing club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Marlborough Racing Club at a meeting held on the 17th day of November, 1922, at Blenheim, with a recommendation by the Chairman of such club, Mr. E. A. Weld, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. E. A. Weld, the Chairman of such club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. F. N. Dillon seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:
MARLBOROUGH RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908).
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Marlborough Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as "the said club"), doth hereby revoke the regulations dated the 22nd day of January, 1920, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the club's racecourse situated in the district of Blenheim, and known as the Waterlea Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings. - These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.
- In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "racing club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.
