Amendments to the Regulations under the Government Railways Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of October, 1922.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Government Railways Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations made under the said Act on the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, by making the following alterations therein:—
By omitting paragraphs (a) and (b) of regulation 64, and substituting the following:—
“(a.) Employees in Division I shall, when travelling on duty for other than relieving purposes, be paid travelling-allowance for personal expenses at the following rates, namely:—
(i.) Employees whose salaries do not exceed £145 per annum: Actual and reasonable expenses. Per Day.
(ii.) Employees whose salaries exceed £145 but do not exceed £370 per annum .. .. 12 6
(iii.) Employees whose salaries exceed £370 but do not exceed £470 per annum .. .. 15 0
(iv.) Employees whose salaries exceed £470 but do not exceed £565 per annum .. .. 17 6
(v.) Employees whose salaries exceed £565 per annum (except the Permanent Head) .. 20 0
(vi.) The Permanent Head .. .. .. 25 0
Provided, however, that in respect to time during which any such employee is travelling by sea the rate shall, if such time exceeds twenty-four hours, be as follows:—
Per Day.
(vii.) For the first day of absence from head-quarters .. .. .. .. 10 0
(viii.) For the second and each subsequent day of absence .. .. .. .. 2 6”
“(b.) Employees in Division I shall, while absent from their headquarters on relief duty, be paid relieving-allowance for personal expenses at the following rates in each case:—
Any employee whose classified salary does not exceed £145 per annum: Actual and reasonable expenses. Per Day.
Any employee whose classified salary exceeds £145 and does not exceed £295 per annum .. 10 0
Any employee whose classified salary exceeds £295 and does not exceed £470 .. .. 12 6
Any employee whose classified salary exceeds £470: At the rate prescribed for travelling-allowance in each case.”
By omitting from regulation 87 the words “£430,” and substituting the words “£420.”
By omitting from paragraph (1) of regulation 93 the words “£219 2s. per annum,” and substituting the words “£208 13s. 4d. per annum in the case of a member who is in receipt of an annual rate of pay, and 1s. 9¾d. per hour in the case of any other member.”
By omitting from paragraph (3) of regulation 93 the words “£219 2s. per annum,” and substituting the words “£208 13s. 4d. or 1s. 9¾d. per hour (as the case may be).”
By omitting from paragraph (4) of regulation 100 the words “£500 per annum,” and substituting the words “£470 per annum.”
And, with the like advice and consent, and in further pursuance of the said power and authority, His Excellency the Governor-General of the said Dominion doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Wellington of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 50 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of October, 1922.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Wellington City Council to permit the laying-off of a street of a width less than sixty-six feet but not less than fifty feet within the area described in the Schedule hereto, it being inexpedient to lay off a street of a width of sixty-six feet in such area.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land, situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 38·9 perches, more or less, being part of Town Acres 966 and 968, City of Wellington, and being Lot 13, D.P. 5201. As the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 55603, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered green.

Authorizing the Purchase by the Opunake Electric-power Board of the Opunake Town Board’s Electric Works.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of October, 1922.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the purchase by the Opunake Electric-power Board, duly constituted under the provisions of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, of the electric works erected in pursuance of the license issued to the Opunake Town Board on the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, page 1562, of the twenty-ninth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Authorizing the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power Board to construct Electric Works.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by section forty-nine of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, as amended by section seventeen of the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power Board to erect electric lines as shown on plan marked P.W.D. 55287, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and such further lines as may from time to time be required in the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power District and outer areas of such district as hereinafter defined; transformers and substations for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy in the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power District and outer areas of such district, as defined by Pro-
