Vesting Water-races in the Waitaki County Council.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the water-races described in the Schedule hereto shall be vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waitaki from and after the ninth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two.


SCHEDULE.

KUROW WATER-RACES.

ALL that water-race in the Otago Land District, Waitaki County, being part of the Kurow Survey District, commencing at the intake on the Kurow River marked A on the plan hereinafter referred to; thence to the junction on the road-line opposite Section 14A marked B on the said plan; thence towards the north-west through Sections 15A, 16A, 17A, and 18A to a point marked C on said plan; thence to the south-west corner and along the north-western boundary of Section 13A into Section 8A, along the south-western boundary of Section 8A aforesaid and the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 8A, 1140 links; across the boundary into Section 7A, thence along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of the said Section 7A and Section 6A to point marked E on said plan.

Also that water-race starting at point marked B aforesaid, through Section 14A, across a road-line, thence through Section 1A into Section 12A; thence along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 12A into Section 3A to point marked G on the said plan; thence along the south-western boundary of Sections 3A and 4A into Section 5A to point marked H on said plan; thence along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 5A to point marked J; thence along the north-eastern boundary of said Sections 5A and 6A to point marked E aforesaid on said plan; thence across a road-line, railway reserve, and through Allotment 4, D.P. 1084, to the county drain marked F on said plan.

Also that water-race starting from point marked G on the said plan, thence along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 3A to point marked I on said plan, thence along the north-eastern boundary of said Section 3A, Section 4A, into Section 5A aforesaid to point marked J aforesaid.

Also that water-race starting from point K in said Section 15A, across a road into Section 1A, thence along the south-western boundary of said Sections 1A, 12A, 11A; thence along the north-western boundary of said Section 11A a distance of 1000 links, across the boundary into said Section 10A; thence along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of said Section 10A and north-eastern boundary of said Section 9A to point marked D aforesaid on said plan.

Also the distributary races No. 1 in Section 16A, No. 2 in Section 17A, and No. 3 through Sections 14A and 1A.

Situated in the Kurow Settlement; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 54998, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of August 1922.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of August, 1922.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made, under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loans.
