ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by Waitemata Harbour from the Whau River to the Tamaki River; thence towards the east generally by the Tamaki River and the Otahuhu Creek to Portage Road; thence towards the south by Portage Road to Manukau Harbour; thence towards the west and again towards the south by Manukau Harbour to the Borough of Onehunga; thence by that borough and again by Manukau Harbour to the western side of Portage Road at Karaka Bay; thence towards the west by the western side of Portage Road to the Town District of New Lynn as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 23rd June, 1910, page 1789, and by that town district to the Whau Bridge; and thence across and by the Whau River to Waitemata Harbour, the place of commencement: excluding the City of Auckland, the boroughs of Newmarket, Mount Eden, Mount Albert, and Avondale, and the Town District of Ellerslie.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the Borough of Otahuhu.

Wellington, 19th July, 1922.

PURSUANT to section 132 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, being part of the Borough of Otahuhu, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General praying that the said area may be excluded from the said borough and included in the County of Manakau. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration which they desire to make within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM BOROUGH OF OTAHUHU.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, being part Fairburn’s Grant No. 269A, situated in the Parish of Manurewa, containing by admeasurement 38 acres 3 roods, more or less. Bounded, commencing at the south-western corner of Lot 5 of part Fairburn’s Grant aforesaid, towards the north generally by the said Lot 5 and Lot 4, 477·8, 63·4, 1062·8, 563·9, 170·7, 166, 91·6, and 98 links to a stream; thence towards the east and south generally by the said stream, by the right bank of a branch of the Tamaki River, and by the left bank of the said Tamaki River to a railway reserve; and thence towards the west by the said railway reserve to the point of commencement: and being all that piece or parcel of land shown on plan No. 3714, deposited in the Deeds Registry Office at Auckland, save and except that strip taken for railway purposes by Proclamation 3768 deposited at the Deeds Registry Office aforesaid.

Alterations to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1908, and its amendments, I, David Henry Guthrie, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of fares, rates, and charges in force on the New Zealand Government railways open for traffic, such alterations to come into force on and after the 27th day of July, 1922.

Hauraki Plains Rating Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy Rates.

Wellington, 19th July, 1922.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and its amendments, to make and levy a rate for the period from 1st April, 1922, to 31st March, 1923, on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act.

The amount of such rate will be payable in one sum on the 14th day of August, 1922.

The valuation roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, 43 Safe Deposit Buildings, High Street, Auckland; and a copy of the same may be inspected at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, Kerepeehi, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Cross Road in the Township of Thames Extension No. 10 of a Width of less than 66 ft.

IN exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section 2 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1915, I, David Henry Guthrie, the Minister of Lands, do hereby authorize the laying-off of the road shown on the plan of the Township of Thames Extension No. 10 of a width of 40 ft., such road being a cross road within the meaning of the said Acts, and situated in a portion of the town intended to be used wholly for residential purposes; and I do hereby notify that this authority is given subject to the condition that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle-line of such road.

Exemption of Slaughterhouse used in connection with the Curing of Bacon and Hams.—Notice No. 2190.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor-General has exempted from the operations of section 17 (1) of the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, the slaughterhouse situated on R.S. 10308 and part R.S. 10269, Block XII, Christchurch Survey District, and used by Mr. L. C. Walker in connection with the curing of bacon and hams.
