THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Collingwood, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

COLLINGWOOD COUNTY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Collingwood taken on the 13th day of July, 1922, on the proposal of the Collingwood County Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of erecting bridges and culverts, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 168, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 73.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF DEVONPORT.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £40,000 re Electricity Supply Undertaking, &c.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Devonport taken on the 12th day of July, 1922, on the proposal of the Devonport Borough Council to borrow the sum of £40,000 for the purpose of purchasing the undertaking of the Electricity Supply Corporation (N.Z.), Limited, and the installation of further plant, &c., the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 543, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 199.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF ELTHAM.
Result of Poll to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Eltham taken on the 7th day of July, 1922, on the proposal of the Eltham Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of completing the erection of and constructing the tank for a 45,000 cubic feet gasholder, and incidental expenses connected therewith (including the payment of the first year’s interest and sinking fund of the loan), the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 94, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 14.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Akaaka Drainage District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

AKAAKA DRAINAGE BOARD.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Akaaka Drainage District was taken on the 28th day of June, 1922, on the proposal of the Akaaka Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £5,000 (five thousand pounds), being £700 for the purpose of repaying the antecedent liability (as defined by the Local Bodies’ Finance Act, 1921-22) of the said Board to the National Bank of New Zealand on 31st March, 1922, and £4,300 for the purpose of widening and deepening certain drains under the control of the Board—namely, the Akaaka Creek, Western drain, McCarthy’s drain, and Mawhitiwhiti drain—and the purchase or hire of the plant and materials necessary for such works, and all other costs, charges, and expenses which the said Board may deem to have actually incurred in connection with such works.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 195, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Arrangements for First Election, &c., Hungahunga Drainage District.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
FREDERICK WILLIAM WILD, of Te Aroha,
as Returning Officer and person to prepare the roll of electors in connection with the first election of the Board of seven members of the Hungahunga Drainage District as constituted on the 1st May, 1922, by the union of the Hungahunga and Waihekau Drainage Districts; also to appoint Monday, the 7th day of August, 1922, as the date, and the Te Aroha Borough Council Chambers, Te Aroha, and the Public Hall, Maharoa, and the Public Hall, Manawaru, and the Public Hall, Ngarua, and the Public Hall, Waihou, and the residence of Mr. J. Carroll, Wardville, as the places, at which such first election shall be held; and Saturday, the 12th day of August, 1922, at 12 noon, as the time, and the Te Aroha Borough Council Chambers, Te Aroha, as the place, at which the first meeting of the Board of Trustees so elected shall be held.

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Avondale and the County of Eden.

Wellington, 19th July, 1922.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Borough of Avondale are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the said borough being a new borough constituted by Proclamation dated the 30th day of March, 1922, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and published in Gazette No. 22 of the same date.
And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the County of Eden affected by the constitution of the Borough of Avondale, made by the said Proclamation dated the 30th day of March, 1922, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF AVONDALE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by Waitemata Harbour from the Whau River to Oakley Creek; thence towards the east generally by Oakley Creek aforesaid to the southern boundary of Section 62, Parish of Titirangi; thence towards the south by that boundary and its production to the middle of a road forming the western boundary of Section 62 aforesaid; thence again towards the east by a line along the middle of that road to a line parallel to and distant 3 chains from
