to be Local Patent Officer at Napier, for the purposes of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1911, as from the 23rd day of June, 1922.

Returning Officer for the Southern Maori Electoral District appointed.

to be the Returning Officer for the Southern Maori Electoral District, for the purposes of the Legislature Act, 1908, as from the 18th day of July, 1922.

Appointment as Ranger under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

THOMAS HOWARD, of Invercargill,

to be a Ranger under the said Act for the Southland Acclimatization District.
