power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and gazetted the seventeenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section nine of the Explosive and Dangerous Goods Amendment Act, 1920, and of all the powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint the Department of Tourist and Health Resorts to be a licensing authority for the purposes of the said Act within the Town of Rotorua, and the several local authorities specified in the Schedule hereto to be licensing authorities for the purposes of the said Act within their respective districts.

License authorizing the Franklin County Council to erect Electric Lines within Portion of the Franklin County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of January, 1922.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth—subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, and to the regulations made under section two of the aforesaid Act and dated the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of the same month, or any regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor (and hereinafter collectively referred to as “the regulations”), and which regulations shall be deemed to be incorporated herein—hereby authorize the Franklin County Council (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”) to erect and maintain electric lines for lighting, power, and heating purposes within the area of supply hereinafter described, such electric lines at present proposed to be erected being indicated by means of white lines shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 51589, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

SCHEDULE.

  1. AREA OF SUPPLY.

THE area of supply consists of that portion of the Franklin County comprising the ridings of Awhitu, Mauku, Waiuku, Waipipi, and Pukekohe West as at present constituted (exclusive of the Waiuku Town District), as indicated by a distinctive border coloured blue on the plan marked P.W.D. 51589, hereinbefore referred to:

Provided that should the said area of supply or any portion thereof be included in an electric-power district constituted under the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, alter the said area of supply in such a manner as he considers expedient.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (c) and (e) of clause 3 of the regulations.

The generating voltage shall be approximately 440 volts between the terminals, and transformed to 6,600 volts for transmission purposes.

  1. DATUM TEMPERATURE.

For the purpose of calculating the stresses as provided in clause 15 of the regulations, the datum temperature shall be taken as 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

  1. CHARGES FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY.

The charge for electrical energy shall not exceed 1s. per unit for lighting purposes, and 6d. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes; provided that “lighting purposes” shall include the operation of motor-generators for lighting purposes; and provided also that the charges shall be subject to a discount of 1d. per unit if accounts are paid by consumers within twenty days from the date of rendering such accounts by the licensee.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

This license shall, unless sooner determined in accordance with the provisions hereinafter expressed, continue in force for a period of forty-two years from the date hereof. Upon the expiry of the said term, or upon the sooner determination of this license by revocation or otherwise, all rights hereby granted to the licensee shall thereupon cease and determine; but such expiration or determination shall not relieve the licensee of any liability theretofore incurred under this license.

  1. VARIATIONS IN CONDITIONS OF LICENSE.

The terms and conditions of this license may at any time or from time to time, at the request or with the consent in writing of the licensee, be altered by the Governor-General by Order in Council.

  1. BARE WIRES.

Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained, no bare wires shall be erected unless and until the consent of the Minister has first been obtained in accordance with the regulations.

  1. CONVERSION OF LINES FROM EARTH-WORKING TO METALLIC.

Notwithstanding anything herein contained, the licensee shall bear the cost of converting the Post and Telegraph Department’s lines between Waiuku and Teketuke and between Waiuku and Kohekohe from earth-working to metallic.
