Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Wellington Land District for other Land.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section six of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1920, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

-DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Sections 548 and 550, Town of Carnarvon.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Sections 541 and 553, Town of Carnarvon.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of May, 1922.

Additional Regulation for the Conduct of Legal Business.

REGULATION No. 7 of the Regulations for the Conduct of Legal Business, dated the 27th day of May, 1903, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th day of June, 1903, is hereby revoked, and the following regulation is made in lieu thereof:-

PRISONERS COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE.

Crown Solicitors will appear on behalf of the Crown when prisoners committed under section 176 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, are brought before the Court for sentence. The fee for such appearance will be one guinea for each prisoner, irrespective of the number of charges; but when more than one prisoner is presented on the same charge, a fee of one guinea only will be allowed.
