as he thinks fit ; provided that payment of salary shall not
be made to any officer who without the permission of his
district controlling officer leaves his headquarters.

(3.) Officers injured while in the performance of their duty
may, on the special authority of the Secretary, be paid salary
for the period of their incapacity.

(4.) This regulation applies equally to members of the
permanent and temporary staffs.

Regulation 93.—The first sentence is amended to read,
“Special leave of absence may be granted to officers retiring
from the Department.........”

Regulation 97 is hereby revoked, and the following regula-
tion substituted therefor :

  1. (1.) Subject to these regulations, the following days,
    or any days specially authorized by the Governor-General in
    Council instead thereof, shall be observed as holidays in
    the Department, namely : Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New
    Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Monday,
    the King’s Birthday, Labour Day, and Anzac Day.

(2.) Officers who cannot be granted such holidays shall be
allowed equivalent time off or paid overtime at rate and a
half for all time worked, provided that those employees who
are eligible to participate in only seven statutory holidays
will not be granted pay although released from duty on
Boxing Day and Easter Saturday.

Amending Order in Council dated 16th January, 1922, approv-
ing the Sum of £64,865 8s. 6d. being treated as a Loan to
the Greymouth Harbour Board in terms of Section 7 of the
Greymouth Harbour Board Amendment Act, 1920.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 25th day
of March, 1922.

Present :

IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the sixteenth day
of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
two, the Governor-General in Council approved of the sum of
sixty-four thousand eight hundred and sixty-five pounds eight
shillings and sixpence, the amount due by the Greymouth
Harbour Board to His Majesty at the commencement of the
Greymouth Harbour Board Amendment Act, 1920 (herein-
after referred to as “the said Act”), being treated as a
loan granted to the Board by the Minister of Finance :

And whereas under the Finance Act, 1921–22, section
thirty-seven, it is enacted that the sum of twenty-nine
thousand three hundred and forty-two pounds, being the
accumulated proceeds in the Public Account derived from
the special rate paid, pursuant to section twelve of the Grey-
mouth Harbour Board Act, 1884, in respect of coal brought
for shipment in the harbour, shall be deducted from the
gross liability of the Board to His Majesty under the said
Act :

And whereas, on the application of the Board, the Minister
of Finance has decided that the sum of two thousand five
hundred pounds, payable to the Board as compensation for
land taken for railway purposes as authorized by section one
hundred and one of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal
and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1921–22, shall be credited
against the gross liability of the Board to His Majesty under
the said Act :

And whereas it is desirable to amend the said Order in
Council by allowing the deduction of the aforesaid amounts
of twenty-nine thousand three hundred and forty-two pounds
and two thousand five hundred pounds from the amount of
sixty-four thousand eight hundred and sixty-five pounds eight
shillings and sixpence therein approved to be treated as a
loan :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act,
and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of
the sum of thirty-three thousand and twenty-three pounds
eight shillings and sixpence, being the net amount due by
the Board to His Majesty under the said Act after allowing
credit for the aforesaid amounts, being treated as a loan
granted to the Board by the Minister of Finance for such
term, at such rate of interest, and on such other conditions
as may be agreed on between the Board and the Minister of
Finance.

Cancelling Appointment of Licensing Authority under the
Explosive and Dangerous Goods Amendment Act, 1920.

IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the third day
of May, nineteen hundred and twenty-one, published
in the New Zealand Gazette on the sixth day of May, nineteen
hundred and twenty-one, inter alia, the Dannevirke Borough
Council was appointed a licensing authority under the Ex-
plosive and Dangerous Goods Amendment Act, 1920; and
whereas it is deemed expedient to revoke such appointment:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred upon him by section nine of the Explosive and
Dangerous Goods Amendment Act, 1920, and of all other
powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the appointment
of the Dannevirke Borough Council as a licensing authority
under the said Act as from the thirty-first day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-two.

Domain.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act,
1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
appoint

FREDERICK CORDUKES,
WILLIAM CROMB,
DANIEL DEE HYDE,
MALCOLM MACLEAN, and
CLIFTON BROOKLYN REEVE,

as from the first day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-two, to be the Paraparaumu Domain
Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule
hereto; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the twentieth
day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two,
at half past two o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the
Pavillion on the Domain, Paraparaumu, as the place where,
the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
