WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and their amendments. NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, waterworks purposes; and for the purposes of such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

SCHEDULE.

Those pieces of land edged red on the said plan situated in the Wainui-o-mata Registration District in the County of the Hutt, all being parts of Block XVI, Belmont Survey District, in the Land District of Wellington:-

(1.) Part of Lot 94 of the said registration district, containing 83 acres 0 roods 31 perches.

(2.) Parts of Lot 34 of the said registration district, containing 29 acres 3 roods 6 perches.

As the said pieces of land are more particularly delineated on the said plan and therein edged red.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the members of the Upland Estate Company (Limited), in Liquidation, will be held at the registered office of the company, 37 Panama Street, Wellington, on Wednesday, the 28th day of September, 1921, at noon, for the purpose of laying the final accounts before the meeting, and passing such resolutions as to the disposal of the books and papers of the company as may be deemed advisable.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fourteen thousand four hundred and forty-four pounds (£14,444), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off the remainder of the Sydenham Waterworks Loan of £15,000, the Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-three fiftieths (23/50ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within that portion of the City of Christchurch formerly known as the Borough of Sydenham; and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE. IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eight thousand three hundred and eighty pounds (£8,380), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off the remainder of the Sydenham Public Works Loan of £10,000, the Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four-fifteenths (4/15ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within that portion of the City of Christchurch formerly known as the Borough of Sydenham; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
