Arrangements for taking Poll respecting Proposed Borough of Raetihi. County of Waimarino.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of September, 1921.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct that a poll shall be taken on the proposal that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a borough under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920; and, further, doth hereby make the following appointments and arrangements for the purpose of taking the said poll:-

Alfred James Parkes, of Raetihi, to be the Returning Officer for the purpose of taking the said poll, and also to be the person authorized to prepare a voters roll of the persons entitled to vote at the said poll.

The voters roll prepared and signed by the said Alfred James Parkes shall be the voters roll to be used at the said poll.

Each person on such roll shall have and may exercise one vote, and no more.

The said poll shall be taken on Wednesday, the twenty-first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, at the office of the Raetihi Town Board, Raetihi, and shall close at seven o'clock in the afternoon of that day.

Except as herein provided, the said poll shall be taken as nearly as may be in the manner provided by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, and the Returning Officer hereby appointed shall be deemed to be a Returning Officer appointed for the purposes of that Act.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED THE BOROUGH OF RAETHI.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Blocks VI and VII, Makotuku Survey District, bounded towards the north-west generally by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Lot 1 on D.P. 3791, and proceeding in an easterly direction along the northern boundary-line of the said Lot 1 to the south-western corner of Lot 2 on D.P. 3740; thence by the western boundary-line of the said Lot 2 and its production to the northern side of the Ameku Road; thence by a right line bearing 76Β° 18' 30" to its intersection with the western boundary-line of Section 26, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District; thence towards the south-east by a right line to a point on the western boundary-line of Section 8, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District, fifteen chains distant from the northern side of the aforesaid Ameku Road; thence towards the south by the western boundary-line of the said Section 8 to its south-western corner; thence towards the east by the southern boundary-line of the said Section 8 to the south-western corner of that part of Section 8 as shown on D.P. 3580; thence by the western and north-eastern boundary-lines of the said part of Section 8 to the western side of the Makotuku Valley Road; thence towards the north-east along the said road to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Subdivision X of the Ngapakihi No. 1 Block; again towards the east by a right line across the aforesaid road to and by the said southern boundary-line of Subdivision X to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence towards the south by the western and southern boundary-lines of Subdivision N of the Ngapakihi No. 1 Block to a point in line with the eastern boundary-line of Subdivision 2A of the Ngapakihi Block; again towards the south by a right line across the Pipiriki-Waiouru Road to and by the said eastern boundary-line of Subdivision 2A to the northern side of the Raetihi-Ohakune Railway-line; thence towards the west by a right line across the said railway-line to and by the northern boundary-line of Subdivision 2B 4 of the Ngapakihi Block and its production to the right bank of the Makotuku Stream; again towards the south by the said stream to a point opposite the most southerly corner of Section 32, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District; again towards the west by a right line to the western side of the Raetihi-Parapara Road; thence towards the north by the said road to the north-eastern corner of Section 23, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District; again towards the west by the northern boundary-line of the said Section 23 and its production to the western side of Islington Street; thence towards the north by the said street to its intersection with the southern boundary-line of Section 19, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District; again towards the west by the southern boundary-line of the said Section 19 and its production to the western side of the Hukaroa Road; thence towards the north generally by the said road to the south-eastern corner
of Lot 20 on D.P. 4783; thence by the southern boundary-line of the said Lot 20 to its south-western corner; thence towards the north by the western boundary of the aforesaid Lot 20 to the Pipiriki-Ohakune Road; thence by a right line across that road to the western side thereof; again towards the north by the western side of the said road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 15 on D.P. 3791; and again towards the north and west generally by the southern and western boundary-lines of the said Lot 15, the western boundary-line of Lot 14, the southern boundary-lines of Lots 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2, and the southern and western boundary-lines of Lot 1 of the said D.P. 3791 to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned lot, the place of commencement.

Authorizing the Whangamomona County Council to erect a Monument on Ohura Road as a Permanent War Memorial.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of September, 1921.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section fifteen of the Finance Act, 1919 (hereinafter referred to as "the said section"), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve the provision by the Whangamomona County Council of a monument as a permanent war memorial, as provided by the said section; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby approve of the erection of such monument in that portion of Ohura Road described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, being an area 20 links square, part of the Ohura Road near Kohuratahi, the centre of which is 400 links from the northernmost corner of Lot 7 of Section 71, Block X, Pouatu Survey District, and 18 links from the northern side of road, the sides of the said square forming an angle of 45Β° with the side of the road.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of September, 1921.

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

Timaru Borough Council (for electric power and light works)
Timaru Borough Council (for improving and extending waterworks)
Timaru Borough Council (for purchasing omnibuses, &c.)

Oroua County Council (for completing purchase of roadmaking machinery)
