In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the NEW ZEALAND GUM-MACHINES COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the twenty-third day of August, 1921, presented to Mr. Justice Adams, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by De Lissa, Sons and Co., by their duly authorized agent Andrew Hanna, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the Court at Auckland on the sixth day of September, 1921, at 10 a.m.; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulation charge for the same.

I, PETER BUKOVAC, of Ponsonby, City of Auckland, in New Zealand, Farmer, do hereby give notice that on and after the 20th day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the surname of “King” will be assumed, taken, and adopted by me in lieu of the surname of “Bukovac” by which I have heretofore been called and known; and that at all times hereafter the name of PETER KING will alone be used and adopted by me as my name and surname in all transactions, documents, and writings, and all legal and other proceedings and instruments, instead of the names Peter Bukovac.

And I further give notice that I have caused to be deposited in the Supreme Court Office at Auckland, New Zealand, a deed-poll under my hand and seal evidencing my assumption and adoption of the said name and surname.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of WANGANUI COMBINED MOTORS (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held at the registered office of the company on Wednesday, the 10th August, 1921, the following special resolution was duly passed, and confirmed at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting held on Wednesday, the 24th August, 1921:—

“That Wanganui Combined Motors (Limited) be wound up voluntarily.”

Mr. ARTHUR HAWORTH, of Silk, Haworth, and Company, Public Accountants, 44 Maria Place, Wanganui, was appointed Liquidator to the said company, to act in conjunction with another Liquidator or Liquidators to be appointed by the late Directors.

NEW ZEALAND INSURANCE COMPANY (LIMITED).
TRUSTEE, EXECUTOR, AND AGENCY BRANCH.

In the matter of the New Zealand Insurance Company Trust Act, 1916.

Schedule as at 31st May, 1921.

I, CHARLES FREDERICK THOMAS, Manager, do solemnly and sincerely declare,—

  1. That the liability of the members is limited.
  2. That the capital of the company is £1,500,000, divided into 1,500,000 shares of £1 each.
  3. That the number of shares issued is 1,500,000.
  4. That calls to the amount of 10s. per share have been made, under which the sum of £750,000 has been received.
  5. That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates is £1,014,991 3s. 7d.
  6. That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates is £1,006,840 2s. 10d.
  7. That the amount of the balance held to the credit of estates under administration is £8,151 0s. 9d.
  8. That the liabilities of the company at the close of its financial year (to wit, the 31st day of May last) were—
    Debts owing to sundry persons by the company, viz.—
    On judgment: Nil.
    On speciality: Nil.
    On notes or bills: Nil.
    On simple contracts: £104,045 16s. 3d.
    On estimated liabilities: £1,141,420 16s. 7d.
  9. That the assets of the company on that day were—
    Government securities, New Zealand: £386,494 10s.
    Government securities, British and British Dependencies: £626,071 13s. 9d.
    Bills of exchange and promissory notes: Nil.
    Cash at bankers: £137,179 14s.
    Other securities: £1,122,171 10s. 6d.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school, certain lands situated in Section 11 of the Town of Russell, and more particularly described as follows, namely:—

(1.) All those pieces of land situated in Church Street in the said town, containing by admeasurement 19·5 perches and 1 rood 8·1 perches, more or less, being part of the land originally granted to one The Reverend Charles Baker by deed of grant dated the 2nd day of March, 1858, and registered in the Deeds Register Office at Auckland under Number 39E, which said pieces of land comprise the whole of the land contained in a subsequent deed of conveyance to one Samuel Marsden Baker dated the 24th day of December, 1885, and registered as above under Number 99374.

(2.) All that piece of land situated in Hazard Street in the said town, containing by admeasurement 19·6 perches, more or less, being Lot 9 of the said Section 11, and the whole of the land originally granted to one Charles Davis by deed of grant dated the 9th day of September, 1859, and registered as above under Number 77E.

(3.) All that piece of land situated in Chapel Street in the said town, containing by admeasurement 20 perches, more or less, being Lot 12 of the said Section 11, and the whole of the land originally granted to Daniel Cooper James Holt and William Barnard Rhodes by deed of grant dated the 26th day of June, 1868, and registered as above under Number 251E.

A plan of the said lands is deposited at the post-office at Russell, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.

All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Williamson’s Chambers, Shortland Street, Auckland, New Zealand.
