and Waiharakeke Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into four marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows:—

Propio District.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 4, Block V, Whareorino Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along the Mangatoa Road, the Kiritehere Road, the Mangakokopu Road, and the Pomarangei Road to the Tawarau Stream; thence down that stream to the southernmost corner of Section 7A, Block X, Kawhia South Survey District; thence along the southern boundaries of Blocks X and XI to Section 6, Block XVI, Kawhia South Survey District (Small Grazing-run 26), and along the south-western boundary of that section to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 3, Block IV, Maungamangero Survey District; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of that section, and along the southern boundaries of Kawhia South and Orahiri Survey Districts to the Haururu Road; along that road to Section 8, Block IV, Maungamangero Survey District; along the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of that section, and the southern boundary of Section 3, Block I, Otanake Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Kinohaku East 2 No. 5B Block; along the eastern boundary of that block and of Section 1, Block V, Otanake Survey District, the south-western and southern boundaries of Kinohaku East 2 No. 28 Block, southern part of 16B, the southern and eastern boundaries of Subdivision 15 of that block, and the northern boundary of Kinohaku East 2 No. 24A Block, the western and northern boundaries of Section 1, Block VI, Otanake Survey District, across a road, and along the northern boundary of Section 16, Block VI aforesaid, to the western boundary of that block, and along the boundary between Blocks VI and VII to the Awakino - Te Kuiti Road; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of Maraetaua AA Block, along the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of that block to the Tuhua Road, along that road to the western boundary of Block II, Totoro Survey District, along the western boundary of that block and the western boundaries of Blocks V, VIII, and XII, Totoro Survey District, to the Mokauiti Stream, and along that stream to the boundary between Blocks X and XI, Totoro Survey District; thence along a right line to Taumatatini Trig. Station, and a right line to the Waitahi Road at the saddle; thence along that road to the Mokau River, and along its right bank to Mangapapa B 2 Block, and along the eastern and northern boundaries of that block, the eastern and northern boundaries of Mangaawakino No. 4 eastern portion, the northern boundaries of Mangaawakino Nos. 1C and 1A, and the eastern boundary of Mahoenui No. 6 to the Awakino River; thence down that river to the eastern boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Awakino North Survey District, and northerly along that boundary, the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 3, Block IV, the eastern boundaries of Sections 2 and 4, Block II, Awakino North Survey District, the eastern boundaries of Sections 9, 7, 5, Block XI, and 7, 8, 9, Block VIII, Whareorino Survey District; thence along the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections 4 and 1A, Block VIII, Whareorino Survey District; thence along the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section, and the south-western boundary of Section 4, Block V, Whareorino Survey District, to its westernmost corner, the point of commencement.

Awakino District.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Waikawau River in Block IX, Whareorino Survey District, and proceeding up that river to the Mangatoa Road; thence northerly along that road to the western boundary of Section 4, Block V, Whareorino Survey District; thence south-easterly along that boundary and south-easterly along the boundary of Section 1A, Block VIII, and along the road forming the southern boundaries of that section and Section 4 to the western boundary of Section 11, Block IX, Maungamangero Survey District; thence southerly along the western and south-western boundaries of said Section 11 and the western boundaries of Section 12, Block IX, Section 2, Block XIII, Maungamangero Survey District, forest reserve, Block II, Awakino North Survey District, Section 2, Block I, Awakino East Survey District, and Section 1, Block II, Awakino North Survey District, to the northern boundary of Section 3, Block IV, Awakino North Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that section, and southerly along the eastern boundaries of the same section and of Section 1, Block IX, to the Awakino River; thence up that river to and along the eastern boundary of Mahoenui No. 6 Block, and along the northern boundaries of Mangaawakino Nos. 1A and 1C and eastern portion No. 4 to the north-western boundary of Mangapapa B 2 Block; thence along that boundary and the north-eastern boundary of the same block to the right bank of the Mokau River; thence down that bank to the sea, and northerly along the sea-coast to the point of commencement.

Waiharakeke District.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Rakaunui Creek in Kawhia Harbour; thence proceeding up that creek and Te Toi Stream to and along the western boundary of Section 1A, Block XV, Kawhia North Survey District; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block III, and 4A, 3, and 1, Block VII, Kawhia South Survey District, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 2, Block XI, Kawhia South Survey District, along the southern boundary of that section, and along the eastern boundary of Section 7A to the Tawarau Stream; thence down that stream and the Marokopa River to the northern boundary of Kinohaku West No. 5 Block, and along that boundary and the northern boundary of Kinohaku West No. 2 to the sea, and northerly along the sea-coast and easterly along the shore of Kawhia Harbour to the point of commencement.

Marokopa District.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing on the sea-coast at the north-western corner of Kinohaku West No. 2 Block, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundaries of Kinohaku West Nos. 2 and 5 Blocks to the Marokopa River; thence up that river and the Tawarau Stream to the Pomarangei Road; thence along that road, along the Mangakokopu Road, along the Kiritehere Road, and along the Mangatoa Road to the Waikawau River; thence down that river to its mouth, and northerly along the sea-coast to the point of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the fifth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of August, 1921.

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), has recommended that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be a scenic reserve under the said Act, and subject to the provisions thereof.


SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 36 acres 0 roods 28 perches, more or less, being Lot 2 of Section 10, Block III, Upper Waitara Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Moki Road, 914·5, 215·2, 328·4, 168, 255, 612·7, 1190·9, 317·6, 297·4, and 128·6 links; towards the south by Lot 1 of the aforesaid Section 10, 181·3, 162·7, 342·8, 341·4, 134·8, 405·4, 552·8, 191·2, 242·7, 172·4, 345·5, and 167·8 links; and towards the west by Section 1, Block III, Upper Waitara Survey District, 327·1, 346, 329·1, 602·1, 356·4, and 383·7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/234, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of August, 1921.
