Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Rangiora County Council to construct the bridge described in the Schedule hereto; and I do also declare that the cost thereof, less such contribution (if any) as may be made thereto by the Government of New Zealand, shall be borne by the Rangiora County Council and the Eyre County Council in the following proportions—viz., the Eyre County Council shall pay forty per centum of the cost of the work, not exceeding one thousand pounds, and the Rangiora County Council shall pay the remainder of such cost; and I do further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Eyre County Council shall be paid from time to time in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said County Council, within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Rangiora County Council; and all such payments shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of the Rangiora County Council for and on behalf of the Eyre County Council.
SCHEDULE.
THAT bridge in the Canterbury Land District, Rangiora County, over the north branch of the Waimakariri River at Perrin’s Ford, on the main road between Kaiapoi and Rangiora. As the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 50863, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.
