Christmas day and on the working-day that first precedes New Year's Day the closing-hour shall be 11.30 p.m.
And whereas, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) fruiterer and (2) confectioner within the Borough of Eltham:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, I do hereby direct that on and after the 2nd day of June 1921, all the shops in each of the trades of (1) fruiterer and (2) confectioner in the Borough of Eltham shall be closed accordingly.
The notice gazetted on the 7th April, 1921, fixing the closing-hours of all shops in the Borough of Eltham is hereby superseded, in so far as it relates to the shops affected by this notice, as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of all the Tobacconists' Shops in the Borough of Eltham, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists' shops in the Borough of Eltham, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 6 p.m., on Wednesdays at 8 p.m., and on Saturdays at 10.15 p.m., with the following exceptions—(l) on the working-day that first precedes Christmas Day and on the working-day that first precedes New Year's Day the closing-hour shall be 11 p.m.; (2) should the occupier of any shop affected by this requisition observe, pursuant to section 11 (2) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Thursdays for any such shop shall be 6 p.m., and the closing-hour on Friday for any such shop shall be 10.15 p.m.:

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Tobacconists' Shops in the Borough of Wanganui, under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Wanganui, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 6 p.m., Fridays at 9 p.m., and in the case of any other day than Thursday being observed as the weekly half-holiday, then the closing-hour for Thursday shall be 6 p.m., except on the evening of working-days immediately preceding the days mentioned in section 19 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, and in the evening of working-days immediately preceding the undermentioned holidays—viz., Wanganui Agricultural Show days, Wanganui Jockey Club’s race days, Wanganui Trotting Club’s race days, and the evening of the last fourteen working-days in the month of December in each year (except Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve), when the closing-hour shall be 9 p.m., and on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve the closing-hour shall be 11 p.m.:
