And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of such drainage district in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby alter the boundaries of the said Ohaupo Drainage District by including in such district the area of land described in the said petition and in the First Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the boundaries of the said drainage district, with such addition as herein provided for, shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN OHAUPO DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded on the north-east and south-east by the Ohaupo Drainage District as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1905, page 1506, and on the west by the road fronting Allotments Nos. 385, 386, 383, 382, Parish of Ngaroto, and intersecting No. 336, Parish of Tuhikaramea.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

OHAUPO DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Allotment 331, Parish of Tuhikaramea, and proceeding thence easterly along a public road to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 333, Parish of Ngaroto; thence southerly along a public road to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 343; thence easterly along a public road to the north-western corner of Allotment 309, and along the western boundaries of said Allotment 309 and of Allotment 310, and along the northern and western boundaries of Allotment 325 to a public road, and thence westerly along that road to the eastern boundary of Allotment 160; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Allotments 160 and 159, and north-easterly along a public road to a road fronting Allotment 385, Parish of Ngaroto; thence northerly along that road to the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 334, Parish of Tuhikaramea, and along southern and eastern boundaries generally of Allotments 334, 333, 332, and 331, Parish of Tuhikaramea, to the point of commencement.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of May, 1921.

Present:

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in pursuance of section fourteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, a petition was presented to the Governor-General, praying that certain areas be excluded from the City of Wellington and included in the County of Makara:

And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section held inquiries, and recommended certain alterations of the said areas:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alterations of boundaries of the said city recommended by the said Commission:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, the areas described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the City of Wellington and included in the County of Makara.

SCHEDULE.

AREAS EXCLUDED FROM THE CITY OF WELLINGTON.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, being Section 49, Makara Registration District, and parts of Sections 42 and 43, Karori Registration District, situated in Block V, Port Nicholson Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 44, Makara Registration District, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction generally along the eastern boundaries of Sections 46, 47, and 48, Makara Registration District, to the south-western corner of Lot I of Section 43, Karori Registration District, as shown on plan marked A/2539, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence towards the north-east along the southern boundaries of Lots I, II, and III of Section 43 on the said plan A/2539 to an unformed road; thence towards the north-west along the western side of the said unformed road to and across Allington Road; again towards the north-east along the northern side of Allington Road to the south-eastern corner of that part of Section 42, Karori Registration District, as shown on plan marked A/1773, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; again towards the north-west along the eastern boundary-line of the said part of Section 42 to and across the Makara Road, a continuation of the said boundary-line to the eastern side of the aforesaid Makara Road, and along the said eastern side of the Makara Road to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section 42, Makara Registration District; thence towards the south-west across Makara Road and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 44, Makara Registration District, to the southernmost corner thereof, the place of commencement.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, being parts of Sections 9 and 2, Upper Kaiwarra Registration District, situated in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of the said Section 9, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction along the western boundary of that section to its intersection with the Waterworks Reserve as proclaimed in New Zealand Gazette No. 43, of the 7th June, 1906, page 1425; thence towards the north-east generally along the western boundary-line of the said Waterworks Reserve to its intersection with the western boundary-line of part 2 of Section 2, Upper Kaiwarra Registration District; thence towards the north-west along the said part 2 of Section 2 to Section 38, Karori Registration District; thence towards the south-west along the southern boundaries of Sections 38 and 55, Karori Registration District, to the north-western corner of the aforesaid Section 9, Upper Kaiwarra Registration District, the place of commencement.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, being parts of Sections 56 and 57, Karori Registration District, situated in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the northern side of the Parkvale Road with the eastern boundary-line of Section 58, Karori Registration District, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction across the aforesaid road and along the said boundary of Section 58 to the northern boundary-line of Section 37, Karori Registration District; thence towards the north-east generally along the northern boundary-lines of the said Section 37 and Section 35 and the north-western and northern boundary-lines of Section 33 to the south-eastern corner of Section 56, Karori Registration District; thence towards the north-west along the north-eastern boundary-line of the said Section 56 to its intersection with the northern side of the Parkvale Road; thence towards the south-west along the said northern side of the Parkvale Road to its intersection with the eastern boundary-line of the aforesaid Section 58, Karori Registration District, the place of commencement.

Consenting to the Raising of Β£120,000 by the Wanganui Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of May, 1921.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR F. H. D. BELL, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the Wanganui Borough Council to borrow sums amounting to one hundred and twenty thousand pounds for extending and improving the tramway service of the borough, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the said sums amounting to one hundred and twenty thousand pounds for the extension and improvement of the tramway service by the Wanganui Borough Council, provided that the rate of interest at which the said sums are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding six pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
