Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Eketahuna, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

EKETAHUNA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof.
I HEREBY give public notice that on the 27th day of April, 1921, a proposal was submitted by the Eketahuna Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Eketahuna for the purpose of raising a special loan of £1,250 for the purpose of renewing the storage batteries at the Eketahuna Electrical Power-station, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 120; against, 14; informal, 3.
And I hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan of £6,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of No. 13 Special Rating Area of the Hutt County Council was taken on the 21st day of April, 1921, on the proposal of the Hutt County Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of construction of waterworks for the supply of water for domestic and other purposes to the Township of Paekakariki.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 74, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 4. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Masterton was taken on the 27th day of April, 1921, on the proposal of the Masterton Borough Council to borrow the sum of £29,500 for the purpose of completing the drainage system of the Borough of Masterton, and to provide deferred-payment connections in approved cases.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,061, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 307. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Canadian Goose turned at large in Southland Acclimatization Society’s District declared to be vested in that Society.

Wellington, 5th May, 1921.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General directs it to be notified that the Southland Acclimatization Society has turned at large the following bird, namely:—
Canadian Goose;
and that the property in such bird and its offspring, and every bird of like species in that acclimatization district, is deemed to be vested in the Southland Acclimatization Society for a period of three years from the date hereof, as provided in section 56 of the Animals Protection Act, 1908.

Notice respecting Proposed Abolition of the Makarewa-Hedgehope River District.

Wellington, 3rd May, 1921.
PURSUANT to the River Boards Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General praying that the Makarewa-Hedgehope River District described in the Schedule hereto may be abolished. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed abolition of the said river district within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, situate in the hundreds of Forest Hill, Mabel, New River, and Invercargill, in the County of Southland, containing by admeasurement 7,400 acres, more or less, and described in New Zealand Gazette, 1888, Vol. II, page 1283.

Notice respecting Proposed Town District of Pongaroa, County of Akito.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a town district under the said Act, by name the Town District of Pongaroa.
• All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said district which they desire to make, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
