Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

Wellington, 3rd May, 1921.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Otahuhu, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF OTAHIHU.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Otahuhu taken on the 31st day of March, 1921, on the proposals of the Otahuhu Borough Council to raise the undermentioned loans, the number of votes recorded for and against each of the proposals was as follows :—

Drainage loan, £61,000 .. 78 196 13
Waterworks (reservoir) loan, £13,500 .. .. 121 159 10
Waterworks (pumping engineer’s cottage) loan, £1,300 .. 127 150 12
Quarry loan, £2,800 .. .. 120 160 9
Walmsley Road loan, £5,950 .. 58 218 12
Station Road loan, £3,700 .. 61 209 18

I therefore declare that all the above proposals were rejected.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of New Plymouth, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of New Plymouth taken on 27th day of April, 1921, upon the proposal to approve of the New Plymouth Borough Council issuing debentures bearing interest at not exceeding 6 per cent. per annum for the unissued balance of the loan authorized to be raised by the said Council and known as “the £72,000 Loan,” or to sell the debentures of such loan at such a price as will produce to the investor a return in interest not exceeding the above rate; and also to approve of the said Council issuing debentures bearing interest at such a rate per annum as shall be determined by the Council for the whole or any part of the loan authorized to be raised by the Council and known as “the £60,000 Loan”; the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,487, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 234.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

Wellington, 5th May, 1921.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Waimate West, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAIMATE WEST COUNTY.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Waimate Riding was taken on the 21st day of April, 1921, on the proposal of the Waimate West County Council to borrow the sum of £20,130 for the purpose of forming and metalling roads and erecting bridges.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 130, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 6.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Kaupokonui Riding was taken on the 21st day of April, 1921, on the proposal of the Waimate West County Council to borrow the sum of £4,690 for the purpose of forming and metalling roads and erecting bridges.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 35, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Geraldine, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

GERALDINE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Proposal to raise Special Loans.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that on the 27th day of April, 1921, proposals to raise special loans under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, were submitted to a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Geraldine, and that the voting at such poll resulted as follows :—

Proposals,—
Fire-station Building Loan of £2,000: For the proposal, 200 votes; against the proposal, 78 votes; informal, 15 votes.

Library Building Loan of £2,000: For the proposal, 163 votes; against the proposal, 109 votes; informal, 21 votes.

And we declare each of the said loans to be duly carried.
Dated at Geraldine this 2nd day of May, 1921.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Pukekohe, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF PUKEKOHE.

Result of Poll.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Pukekohe taken on the 27th day of April, 1921, on the proposal of the Pukekohe Borough Council to borrow the sum of £4,400 for the purpose of acquiring 26 acres 3 roods 1-13 perches, more or less, of land for the purpose of a public domain and scenic reserve, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 235, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 203.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Brunner, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BRUNNER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Brunner taken on the 27th day of April, 1921, on the proposal of the Brunner Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the reconstruction of the Wallsend-Taylorville Bridge, the number of votes for the proposal was 147, and the number of votes against the proposal was 9.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
