N OTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of sections 230 and 252 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of Mr. R. D. Wallace, Levin, on Saturday, 23rd day of April, 1921, at 9.30 o’clock in the morning, for the purposes of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows —

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500,000, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the extension and equipment of the existing electric power station and plant, and the provision of substations, machinery, and plant for improving and extending the supply of electricity in the City of Auckland, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixpence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the City of Auckland; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAIRAU ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by subsection (b) of section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairau Road Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairau Road Board Redemption Loan of £2,270 (1920), authorized to be raised by the said Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying to the Public Trustee a sum of £2,270 borrowed for the purpose of paying the amount of levies made by the Wairau Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for capital works, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-sixth of a penny (1/26d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairau Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of December and June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

P UBLIC notice is hereby given that the Hamilton Borough Council proposes to execute certain public works—to wit, the erection of an electrical transformer station; for which purpose the following lands require to be taken by the said Hamilton Borough Council, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, sections 18 and 19, that is to say: All that piece or parcel of land in the Borough of Hamilton, containing by admeasurement 18·37 perches (a little more or less), being parts of Sections 5, 5A, 7, and 7A of the Hamilton West Town Belt. Bounded, commencing at a point in the south-western boundary of the said Section 7A 406·02 links from the south-western corner of such section, towards the south-west by Seddon Road, 151·52 links; towards the north-west by other part of the said Sections 5A and 5, 75·76 links; towards the north-east by other part of the said Sections 5 and 7, 151·52 links; and towards the south-east by other parts of the said Sections 7 and 7A, 75·76 links.

A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is open for inspection at the office of the Hamilton Borough Council at the Town Hall, Hamilton West. All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing to the Hamilton Borough Council within forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice.
