A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the second day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, the Town District of Manurewa was duly constituted and proclaimed under the Town Boards Act, 1908, with the boundaries described in the Schedule to the said Proclamation:

And whereas by section eighty-seven of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1920, it is provided that, notwithstanding anything in the Town Boards Act, 1908, the Governor-General may enlarge the boundaries of the Manurewa Town District, but so that the said town district shall not exceed an area of three square miles:

And whereas it is expedient to enlarge the boundaries of the said town district in the manner hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Admiral of the Fleet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the said Town Boards Act, 1908, and by the said section eighty-seven of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1920, do hereby enlarge the said town district of Manurewa, as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, by including therein the areas described in the First Schedule hereto; and do hereby declare that on and after the aforesaid date the boundaries of the said town district, with such additions as hereinbefore provided, shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREAS INCLUDED IN MANUREWA TOWN DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point being the north-western corner of Price’s subdivision of Clendon’s Grant; thence proceeding in a south-easterly direction along the western boundary of that subdivision and its production to its intersection with the middle-line of Brown’s Road; thence in a south-westerly direction along said middle-line of Brown’s Road to its intersection with a right line being the production of the north-eastern boundary of Lot 50 on plan No. 4436 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence in a north-westerly direction along that right line to its intersection with the northern boundary of part Lot 4, Clendon’s Grant, being portion of Dreadon’s property shown on Deeds record 20/406 in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of said part Lot 4 to its north-eastern corner; thence by a right line across the North Island Main Trunk Railway and through part Lot 4, Clendon’s Grant, being portion of Brown’s property shown on Deeds record 17A/407 in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, to the north-western corner of part Lot 5, Clendon’s Grant, containing 54 acres 3 roods 10 perches, shown on Deeds record R. 185/508 as aforesaid; thence along the northern boundary of the said part Lot 5 to its northernmost corner; and thence in a south-easterly direction along the eastern boundary of that lot to the north-western corner of Price’s subdivision of Clendon’s Grant, the place of commencement.

Also all that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point being the intersection of the south-western boundary of subdivision 20 of Clendon’s Grant with the Manurewa–Papakura Valley Road; thence by a right line across that road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the northern boundary of Lot 1 of Allotment 13, Papakura Parish, as shown on plan No. 4199 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, to its north-eastern corner; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of the said Lot 1 to its easternmost corner, and that boundary produced through Lots 4 and 5 shown on plan 4199 aforesaid, to a point on the northern bank of the Papakura Stream; thence generally in a south-westerly direction along the northern bank of the said Papakura Stream forming the southern boundary of Lot 5 on plan 4199 aforesaid, and of Allotments 11 and 9, Papakura Parish, to a point where the right line forming part of the southern boundary of the said Allotment 9 intersects the said Papakura Stream; thence along that right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 5 of subdivision of part of said Allotment 9; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 5 and 4 of part said Allotment 9 to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot, and along the north-western boundary of said Lot 4 and that boundary produced across a public road; thence by a right line parallel to the road forming the southern boundary of Allotment 6, Papakura Parish, to its intersection by a right line parallel to the road forming the eastern boundaries of Allotments 6 and 5, Papakura Parish, and 1300 links distant therefrom; thence along that right line in a north-westerly direction to a line running parallel to and distant 1500 links south from Weymouth Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along that line to the western boundary of the subdivision of Allotment 7, Parish of Papakura, containing 30 acres, and shown on Deeds record R. 110, page 521, in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence south-easterly along said western boundary to north-western boundary of Allotment 8, Parish of Papakura; thence north-easterly along said north-western boundary of Allotment 8, across a road forming its eastern boundary, and along the north side of the road forming the northern boundary of Allotment 11, Parish of Papakura; thence north-westerly along the western side of road forming the eastern boundary of Allotment 12, Parish of Papakura, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1 of Allotment 13, Parish of Papakura; thence across road to and along said south-eastern boundary to its intersection with a right line running through said Lot 1 parallel to and distant 600 links from said road; thence north-westerly along said right line to and across Manurewa–Papakura Valley Road; thence north-easterly along the northern side of said road to its intersection with the south-western boundary of Subdivision 20 of Clendon’s Grant, being the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF MANUREWA TOWN DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District commencing at a point being the north-west corner of Price’s subdivision of Clendon’s Grant; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of the said Price’s subdivision and that boundary produced for a distance of 1600 links; thence along a line parallel to the eastern boundary of Lot 3 of a subdivision of Clendon’s Grant as shown on plan No. 9996 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, for a distance of 2300 links; thence by a right line parallel to Oram’s Road to the eastern boundary of Lot 3 aforesaid, along the eastern boundary of that lot to the westernmost corner of the subdivision of Clendon’s Grant as shown on plan No. 6888 deposited as aforesaid; thence along the north-western boundary of that subdivision to its intersection by a right line produced from the northernmost corner of Subdivision 18 of Clendon’s Grant parallel to the eastern boundary of the aforesaid subdivision shown on plan No. 6888, and along the said right line to the northernmost corner of the said Subdivision 18; thence along the north-western boundary of Subdivision 19 of the said grant to the westernmost corner of Subdivision 20 of Clendon’s Grant, and along the south-western boundary of that subdivision to the Manurewa–Papakura Valley Road, by a right line across the said road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the northern boundary of Lot 1 of Allotment 13, Papakura Parish, as shown on Plan No. 4199 deposited as aforesaid, to its north-eastern corner; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-east boundary of the said Lot 1 to its easternmost corner, and that boundary produced through Lots 4 and 5 shown on plan 4199 aforesaid, to a point on the northern bank of the Papakura Stream; thence generally in a south-westerly direction along the northern bank of the said Papakura Stream forming the southern boundary of Lot 5 on plan 4199 aforesaid, and of Allotments 11 and 9, Papakura Parish, to a point where the right line forming part of the southern boundary of the said Allotment 9 intersects the said Papakura Stream; thence along that right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 5 of subdivision of part of said Allotment 9; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 5 and 4 of part said Allotment 9 to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot, and along the north-western boundary of said Lot 4 and that boundary produced across a public road; thence by a right line parallel to the road forming the southern boundary of Allotment 6, Papakura Parish, to its intersection by a right line parallel to the road forming the eastern boundary of Allotments 6 and 5, Papakura Parish, and 1300 links distant therefrom; thence along that right line in a north-westerly direction to a point 1500 links from the southern side of Weymouth Road; thence by a right line in a westerly direction parallel to and 1500 links distant from the southern boundary of Weymouth Road to its intersection by a production of a line parallel to the eastern boundary of Lot 34 of subdivision of Clendon’s Grant shown on plan No. 4436 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and 400 links distant therefrom; thence along the said right line to the northern boundary of Lot 34 aforesaid, along part of the northern boundary of that lot, the northern boundary of Lot 35, and part of northern boundary of Subdivision 13 of Lot 36 to Lot 50 on plan 4436 aforesaid, and thence along the eastern boundary of the said Lot 50 and that boundary produced to its intersection with the northern boundary of part Lot 4, Clendon’s Grant, being portion of Dreadon’s property shown on Deeds record 20/406 in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of said part Lot 4 to its north-eastern corner; thence by a right line across the North Island Main Trunk Railway and through part Lot 4, Clendon’s Grant, being portion of Brown’s property
