Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

Wellington, 7th February, 1921.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the New Lynn Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

NEW LYNN TOWN DISTRICT.

Results of Polls.

In the matter of the Town Boards Act, 1908, and of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and the Acts amending the same respectively.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 22nd day of December, 1920, the following proposals were submitted by the New Lynn Town Board to the ratepayers of the New Lynn Town District for raising special loans of the several sums and for the several purposes mentioned below; and the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the several proposals and the several results were as follows:—

Scheme 1.—To borrow the sum of £1,775 for the conversion of the existing Hetana Hamlet and Portage Road Special Loans, the purchase and improvement of the Triangle Reserve, the improvements of Clark Street Reserve, and of the Lawson Park Domain: Votes for this proposal, 70; votes against this proposal, 56; informal votes, 73.

I therefore declare the proposal in Scheme 1 to be carried.

Scheme 2.—To borrow the sum of £500 for the erection of a soldiers memorial: Votes for this proposal, 69; votes against this proposal, 98; informal votes, 32.

I therefore declare the proposal in Scheme 2 to be rejected.

Scheme 3.—To borrow the sum of £2,000 to provide for storm-water drainage: Votes for this proposal, 102; votes against this proposal, 76; informal votes, 19.

I therefore declare the proposal in Scheme 3 to be carried.

Scheme 4.—To borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of a town-hall site and erection of Board offices: Votes for this proposal, 73; votes against this proposal, 104; informal votes, 23.

I therefore declare the proposal in Scheme 4 to be rejected.

Scheme 5 (alternative to Scheme 4).—To borrow the sum of £8,000 for the purpose of a town-hall site and the erection of a town-hall and Board offices: Votes for this proposal, 48; votes against this proposal, 125; informal votes, 25.

I therefore declare the proposal in Scheme 5 to be rejected.

Scheme 6.—To borrow the sum of £15,500 to provide for water-supply by reticulation throughout the town district: Votes for this proposal, 116; votes against this proposal, 67; informal votes, 16.

I therefore declare the proposal in Scheme 6 to be carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Kowai, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

KOWAI COUNTY COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and other enabling statutes.

WE hereby give notice that on Monday, the 24th day of January, 1921, a proposal was submitted by the Kowai County Council to the ratepayers of the county (exclusive of the Amberley Town District) for raising a special loan of £20,000 for the purpose of carrying out and paying for the work of electrical reticulation, erecting mains, and providing all material and things necessary or incidental to supplying the county (including the Amberley Town District) with electric energy and power from Lake Coleridge, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 222; against the proposal, 24; informal, 1: total, 247.

And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

Fixing Dates on which certain Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, are to be furnished.

PURSUANT to section 22 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1920, shall be transmitted to the Fire Boards concerned, in the manner prescribed by the said section, on or before the 31st May, 1921.

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Marton and the County of Rangitikei.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Borough of Marton are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by an Order in Council dated the 8th day of December, 1920, made under the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, and published in Gazette No. 99, of the 9th day of December, 1920.

And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the County of Rangitikei affected by the said Order in Council dated the 8th day of December, 1920, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF MARTON.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the south-east corner of Block LXXX, Rangitikei District, with the southern side of Bond Street extension, as shown on plan 1906, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, and proceeding in a north-easterly direction across that street and along the western boundary of Allotment 6 on the aforesaid plan to its north-western corner, thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Allotments 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 on plan 1906 aforesaid; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of part of the subdivision of Block XXXVIII, Rangitikei District, shown on plan marked A/1839, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence by lines bearing 103° 58′ 40″ for a distance of 271·5 links, 107° 4′ distance 761 links, 107° 14′ distance 652·5 links, and 109° 18′ distance 461·5 links, as shown on plan marked A/312, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, to the western side of the Upper Tutaenui Road at angle peg No. V; thence by a right line across the angle of the aforesaid road to its eastern side; thence towards the south by the said eastern side of the Upper Tutaenui Road to its junction with the northern side of Bond Street; thence easterly along the said northern side of Bond Street to the Tutaenui Stream, and along the right bank of that stream to a point in line with the northern boundary of a subdivision of part of Block VIII, Rangitikei District, as shown on plan marked A/2483, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, and proceeding easterly to and along the northern boundary of that subdivision to the eastern side of the Ngatawa Road; thence southerly along the said eastern side of the Ngatawa Road to the northern boundary of the Township of Marton Extension No. 1, shown on plan 2150, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Marton Extension No. 1 aforesaid to the North Island Main Trunk Railway line; thence south-westerly along the said railway-line to the southernmost corner of Allotment 6 of Block XXI of the Township of Marton Extension No. 1 aforesaid; thence by a right line across the railway-line to the northern side of Purakau Street at the south-western corner of Allotment 3 of Block XXII of the Township of Marton Extension No. 1, shown on plan 2149, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence easterly along the said northern side of the Purakau Street to its intersection with the production of the eastern side of Golding’s Line; thence south-westerly along Golding’s Line and its production aforesaid to a point opposite south-eastern corner of Lot 180, shown on deeds plan 266, deposited in the office of the Deeds Registrar at Wellington; thence westerly along a right line across Golding’s Line to the said corner of Lot 180, and along the southern boundaries of Lot 180 aforesaid and Lot 184 to Hawkestone Road, and the southern side of the said road to and across Marton-Crofton Road; thence along the western side of that road to the boundary between Sections 10 and 11, Rangitikei Agricultural Reserve, shown on plan
