  1. Clause 1 of the regulations is hereby amended by adding the following subclauses:—

“ (2.) A deduction of £10 per annum from the salary payable under sub-clause (1) of this clause shall be made in the case of every uncertificated temporary teacher who is not the holder of a license to teach.

“ (3.) Wherever in Schedule I of the regulations, as amended by this Order, a higher grade of salary is provided for any position of assistant teacher than the grade of salary provided before the coming into force of this Order, such higher grade of salary shall not be payable till the 1st of February, 1921, and shall not be payable to the teacher then employed in such position unless the Board decides that it is unnecessary to transfer such teacher to another position with a view of appointing a teacher more suitable for and having a better claim to the position.”

  1. (1.) Subclauses (2) and (3) of clause 2 of the regulations are hereby amended (a) by substituting “ February ” for “ April ” and “ January ” for “ March ” wherever they occur; and (b) by deleting the proviso to sub-clause (3).

(2.) Schedule V of the regulations is hereby revoked, and the following substituted therefor:—

NOTE.—The Roman numbers, I, II, &c., in column (1) are the grades of head or sole teachers; Arabic numbers are the grades of assistants.

(3.) Subclause (4) of clause 2 of the regulations is hereby amended by inserting, after the words “ the said addition to salary,” the words “ in whole or in part ”; and by substituting for the words “ higher position ” the words “ position with a higher grade of salary.”
