II.—SALARIES OF PUBLIC-SCHOOL TEACHERS.
- (1.) Notwithstanding anything in the regulations as amended by this Order, the salary of any teacher (other than a relieving teacher) who was employed in a public school of Grade I or a higher grade on 1st April, 1920, or who is appointed after the 31st March, 1920, and before the 1st February, 1921, shall until 31st January, 1921, be determined as follows, and shall be payable from the 1st April, 1920, or from the date of appointment, as the case may be :—
(a.) Any such teacher shall receive the salary to which he would have been entitled under clause 1 of the regulations had this Order not come into force.
(b.) In addition he shall receive, if he is the holder of a teacher’s certificate or a license to teach, a special increment of £30 per annum, or if he is an uncertificated teacher a special increment of £20.
(c.) If employed in a school of Grade I, II, IIIA, or IIIB, he shall receive a further addition of £10 per annum.
(d.) He shall also receive the additions to salary (if any) provided by clauses 2 and 3 of the regulations as amended by this Order.
(2.) On and after 1st February, 1921, the salary of any such teacher shall be determined in accordance with the regulations as amended by this Order.
- Schedules I and IV of the regulations are hereby revoked, and the following substituted therefor :—

And so on, a subgrade of school and an assistant of Grade I being added for each additional forty in average attendance.
