advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby approve of the acquisition of the said
land at the sum of two thousand pounds, and doth declare
the said land to be vested in His Majesty.

ALL that land in the Wellington Land District known as
Town Acres 1050 and 1067, comprised in certificate of title,
Vol. 141, folio 175.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in the Canterbury Land District for Sale or Lease to
Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 20th September, 1920.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land
will be offered for sale or lease under the Discharged
Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations there-
under; and applications will be received at the District
Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 11.30 o’clock
a.m. on Saturday, the 23rd day of October, 1920.

The lands may be purchased for cash or on deferred pay-
ments, or selected on lease for a term of thirty-three years,
with right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-
three years and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board
for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 27th day of October, 1920,
at 10 o’clock a.m.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examina-
tion of applicants.

NOTE.—The deferred-payment instalment includes repay-
ment for buildings.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION.

This settlement is situated about four miles from Hinds
Railway-station and half a mile from Blackbridge Cheese-
factory. It is all flat agricultural land in grass and cereal
crop, and is well watered throughout.

DESCRIPTION OF SECTIONS.

Section 1.—Fair agricultural land, stony in places, all fairly
well grassed and watered by water-race.

Sections 2 and 3.—All good heavy land, well grassed and
fairly well drained.

Sections 4, 5, 10, 12, and 13.—All good heavy land.

Sections 6, 9, and 11.—Fair agricultural land.

Section 7.—Good agricultural land.

Section 8.—All good heavy land, well grassed.

IMPROVEMENTS.

The improvements which do not go with the land, and
which have to be paid for separately, are as follows:—

Section 1.—Weighted with £80 for stable at present on
Section 2, which may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight
half-yearly instalments of £4 0s. 10d. or out of advances; total half-yearly payment on lease, £56 9s. 4d. It is also
weighted with £36 for 12 acres of wheat, which is to be paid
for in cash on 1st March, 1921.

Section 2.—Weighted with £515 for buildings, comprising
house, byre, fowl-house, and pig-sty, which may be paid for in
cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £26 0s. 2d.; total half-yearly payment on lease, £125 0s. 2d.

Section 3.—Weighted with £150 for buildings, comprising
hut and granary, which may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £7 11s. 6d.; total half-yearly
payment on lease, £85 17s. 6d.

Section 4.—Weighted with £130 for buildings, comprising
blacksmith’s shop and old byre at present on Section 9, and
which may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly
instalments of £6 11s. 4d.; total half-yearly payment on
lease, £70 0s. 4d. It is also weighted with £70 for 23½ acres of
wheat, which is to be paid for in cash on 1st March, 1921.

Section 5.—Weighted with £100 for buildings, comprising
part of stable at present on Section 11, and which may be
paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of
£5 1s.; total half-yearly payment on lease, £92 11s. 6d.

Section 6.—Weighted with £225 for buildings, comprising
new part of wool-shed at present on Section 9, and which
may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £11 7s. 3d.; total half-yearly payment on lease,
£61 15s. 3d. It is also weighted with £217 for 72½ acres of
wheat and oats, which are to be paid for in cash on 1st
March, 1921.

Section 7.—Weighted with £120 for buildings, comprising
part stable at present on Section 11, and which may be paid
for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of
£6 1s. 2d.; total half-yearly payment on lease, £67 5s. 2d.
It is also weighted with £114 for 38 acres of wheat and oats,
which are to be paid for in cash on 1st March, 1921.

Section 8.—Weighted with £100 for buildings, comprising
byre at present on this section, which may be paid for in
cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £5 1s.; total half-yearly payment on lease, £88 15s.

Section 9.—Weighted with £786 for buildings, comprising
house and old portion of wool-shed (with loft) at present on
this section, which may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £39 13s. 10d.; total half-yearly payment on lease, £109 13s. 4d. It is also weighted
with £160 for 53½ acres of wheat and oats, which are to be
paid for in cash on 1st March, 1921.

Section 10.—Weighted with £400 for house at present on
this section, which may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £20 4s., total half-yearly
payment on lease, £107 5s. 6d. It is also weighted with
£287 for 95½ acres of wheat and oats, which are to be paid
for in cash on 1st March, 1921.

Section 11.—Weighted with £210 for buildings, comprising
hut and six stalls of stable at present on this section, also
pig-sty, which may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight
half-yearly instalments of £10 12s. 1d.; total half-yearly
payment on lease, £79 9s. 1d.

Section 12.—Weighted with £130 for buildings, comprising
portion of stable at present on Section 11, and motor-garage,
which may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly
instalments of £6 11s. 4d.; total half-yearly payment on
lease, £86 8s. 10d. It is also weighted with £121 for 40½ acres
of oats, which is to be paid for in cash on 1st March, 1921.

Section 13.—Weighted with £600 for buildings, comprising
house and stable, which may be paid for in cash or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £30 6s.; total half-yearly
payment on lease, £118 19s. It is also weighted with £159
for 53 acres of wheat, which is to be paid for in cash on 1st
March, 1921.

SPECIAL CONDITION.

The successful applicant for Section 11 will be required to
sell the timber thereon to the successful applicants for the
other sections in this settlement, subject to the approval of
the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
