NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands
will be offered for sale or lease under the Discharged
Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations there-
under; and applications will be received at the District
Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 11.30 o’clock
a.m. on Saturday, the 23rd day of October, 1920.
The lands may be purchased for cash or on deferred pay-
ments, or selected on lease for a term of thirty-three years,
with right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-
three years and a right to acquire the freehold.
Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board
for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 27th day of October, 1920,
at 10 o’clock a.m.
The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination
of applicants.

DESCRIPTION.
Section 1.—Good, flat, agricultural land. About 55 acres
sown in oats, remainder in grass. Watered by water-races,
and subdivided into five paddocks. Situated four miles from
Lyndhurst Post-office and railway-station. There is on this
section for removal to another section a two-roomed hut.
Section 2.—Good, flat, agricultural land. About 40 acres
in oats, remainder in grass. Subdivided into five paddocks.
Section 3.—Good, flat, agricultural land. About 67 acres
in oats and 30 acres in wheat, remainder in grass. Subdivided
into three paddocks.
IMPROVEMENTS.
Besides the crops, the improvements that go with the land
are as follows: Section 1, 262 chains boundary and subdi-
visional fencing, valued at £176; Section 2, 241 chains bound-
ary and subdivisional fencing, valued at £145; Section 3,
322 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing, valued at £235.
The improvements that do not go with the land, but which
have to be paid for separately, are—
Section 1.—Buildings, consisting of seven-roomed house,
washhouse, dairy, and motor-shed, valued at £450, which
may be paid for in cash, or by twenty-eight half-yearly
instalments of £22 14s. 6d.; total half-yearly payment on
lease, £159 1s. 6d.
Section 2.—Buildings comprising main stable and cow-shed
combined, loose-box, pig-sty, and wool-shed, valued at £520,
which may be paid for in cash, or by twenty-eight half-yearly
instalments of £26 5s. 3d.; total half-yearly payment on
lease, £140 15s. 9d.
Section 3.—Buildings comprise a two-roomed hut, valued
at £100, at present on Section 1, which may be paid for in
cash, or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £5 1s., or
out of advances; total half-yearly payment on lease,
£104 5s. 6d.

This settlement is situated about one mile and a half from
Prebbleton by good road. Water-races either pass through
the sections or traverse the adjoining roads. There are no
buildings on the settlement.
Section 1.—Good flat agricultural land in grass.
Section 2.—Good flat agricultural land. 22 acres in wheat,
remainder in grass. Weighted with £66 for the wheat crop,
which is to be paid for in cash on 31st March, 1921.
Section 3.—Good flat agricultural land, somewhat light in
the western paddock. About 61 acres in oats, remainder in
grass. Weighted with £183 for the oat crop, which is to be
paid for in cash on 31st March, 1921.
Section 4.—Good flat agricultural land, somewhat light in
the western paddock. 13 acres in oats, 30 acres in wheat,
remainder in grass. Weighted with £129 for the crops,
which are to be paid for in cash on 31st March, 1921.
Section 5.—Very good agricultural land. 8 acres in oats,
17 acres in wheat, remainder in grass. Weighted with £75
for the crops, which are to be paid for in cash on 31st March,
1921.
IMPROVEMENTS.
The improvements that go with the land are as follows:
Section 1, 248 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing,
valued at £107; Section 2, 112 chains boundary and sub-
divisional fencing, valued at £48; Section 3, 177 chains
boundary and subdivisional fencing, valued at £76; Sec-
tion 4, 160 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing, valued
at £71; Section 5, 123 chains boundary and subdivisional
fencing, valued at £56.
