THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.
SCHEDULE.
WAIPIRO 5c Block: Approximate area, 2,766 acres; Mata and Waipiro Survey Districts.

B y virtue of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the sixth section of the Tourist and Health Resorts Control Act, 1908, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for General Government purposes in Campbell Survey District, Canterbury Land District, described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of the Tourist and Health Resorts Control Act, 1908; and such reserve shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, being Reserve 4023, situated in Block VIII, Campbell Survey District, and containing 200 acres, more or less.

Regulations prescribing Travelling-allowances of Stipendiary Magistrates.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of September, 1920.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
I N pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section five of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the regulations made on the seventeenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the Gazette of the fourth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, prescribing the travelling allowances of Stipendiary Magistrates, and doth hereby make the following regulations in lieu thereof; and doth direct that such regulations shall come into force on and from the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.
REGULATIONS.
TRAVELLING-ALLOWANCES.

STIPENDIARY Magistrates shall receive travelling-allowance for personal expenses at the rate of 20s. per diem for each day on which they are necessarily absent from their headquarters at night; provided that while at sea the allowance shall be at the rate of 10s. for the first day and 5s. for each subsequent day.

When a Magistrate leaves and returns to headquarters the same day, actual and reasonable expenses only shall be paid.

Nothing in these regulations shall preclude the Minister from authorizing temporary special rates or amounts for travelling to meet special cases.

The cost of transport by land or sea will be paid by the Government, or when paid by the Magistrate travelling the same will be refunded to him on production of vouchers, but no vouchers for such expenses will be required for sums of 5s. and under, and vouchers for railway fares will not be required if the railway travelled upon and the extent of the journey is stated.

Public conveyances must be used where available, and the cost of motor-cars or special conveyances will not be allowed unless specially authorized.

All vouchers for travelling allowances or expenses must be made out in detail on the proper Treasury form, must state definitely the duty on which the Magistrate is travelling, and must be signed and certified by the claimant, and certified as correct by the Permanent Head of the Department or other authorized authority.

No Magistrate shall leave his district without the authority of the Minister of Justice or some officer authorized by him.

Validating the Proceedings in connection with a Loan of ยฃ300 proposed to be raised by the Council of the County of Pohangina.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
W HEREAS the Pohangina County Council, acting under and in pursuance of paragraph (e) of section sixteen of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, lately proposed to raise a loan of three hundred pounds for the purpose of rebuilding a bridge in the Mangaone Riding:
And whereas the ratepayers' consent given under paragraph (e) of section sixteen aforesaid is irregular, in that a subscribing ratepayer has attested the signatures of the other subscribers thereto:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by the said irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the ratepayers' consent to the raising of the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been properly witnessed, and that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Declaring certain Area in the Hawera Acclimatization District to be a Sanctuary for Imported and Native Game.

P URSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the Animals Protection Act, and that no imported or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Hawera Acclimatization District, situated in Blocks XII and XVI, Ngaira Survey District, and in Blocks IX and XIII, Omona Survey District, being the properties of Robertson Brothers, trustees of late A. Hatrick and W. Hardwick-Smith.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this 11th day of September, 1920.
