BLUFF PUBLISHING COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary meeting of the Bluff Publishing Company (Limited) held in the Athenæum Hall, Bluff, on Friday, 27th August, the following resolution, of which due notice had been given, was confirmed :—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the company be wound up accordingly.”

A further resolution was proposed appointing Mr. J. CAMERON, Bluff, Liquidator to wind up the company.

UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1918.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Wellington requires to take all that piece of land situate in and being Allotments numbered 1 and 2, Block I, Mornington, fronting Ridgeway, on the map of the City of Wellington, for a public work—namely, a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914.

And notice is hereby given that a plan of the said land is open for inspection at the offices of the said Board in Mercer Street, in the City of Wellington.

All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said Board.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908 ; and in the matter of the FREDERIC SHIPMAN ENTERPRISES (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at the registered office of the company, 7 Woodward Street, Wellington, on the 13th June, 1920, the following extraordinary resolutions were passed :—

(a.) That it is proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that as the company can no longer continue its business with profit, it is advisable to wind up the same, and that it be wound up accordingly ; and

(b.) That Mr. W. BEAUCHAMP-PLATTS be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding up the affairs of the company.

BLENHEIM BOROUGH.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

RESOLVED that, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000 (ten thousand pounds sterling) which the ratepayers of the borough have authorized the Blenheim Borough Council to borrow, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Acts, for the purchase of a new gas-holder and for the extension of gas-mains, the said Council, in the exercise and in pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the said Acts, doth hereby make and levy a special rate of 0·5 pence in the pound value upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the administrative area of the Borough of Blenheim ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable annually on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Resolved that the Public Trustee be and is hereby appointed Commissioner of the sinking fund for the repayment of all debentures issued in respect of the £10,000 Gasworks (1921) Loan.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Piako County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of four hundred and five pounds (£405), authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the metalling of portion of the Waiota–Matamata and Seddon’s Roads in the Piako County, the said Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Waiota–Matamata and Seddon’s Roads Special Rating Area, the boundaries of which are described on page 320 of the New Zealand Gazette dated 30th January, 1919.

And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

POHANGINA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling, the Pohangina County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £850 (the cost of raising the loan is to be paid out of the money so raised), authorized to be raised by the Pohangina County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto, and the Housing Act, 1919, for erecting a worker’s dwelling for the use of the County Engineer, the Pohangina County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/135th of a penny in the pound on the capital rateable value of all the rateable property in the County of Pohangina ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable half-yearly on the first day of April and the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1911 ; and in the matter of Letters Patent granted to George Fell Hutchinson, of Hawera, Motor Engineer, bearing date the 8th day of February, 1907, and numbered 22408, relating to “An improved Hydraulic Vacuum Pump.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the 13th day of September, 1920, has been fixed by the Court as the day before which the petition of the above-named George Fell Hutchinson, praying that the term of the above-mentioned letters patent may be extended, will not be heard.
