WHAKAKI DRAINAGE BOARD.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the
Whakaki Drainage District taken on the 25th day of June,
1920, on the proposal of the Whakaki Drainage Board to
borrow the sum of Β£2,000 for constructing about ten miles
of drains, the number of votes recorded was as follows: For
the proposal, 23; against the proposal, nil.

I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

Special Order made by the Hobson County Council altering
Boundaries of Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Hobson County
Council, is published in accordance with the provisions
of the Counties Act, 1908.

HOBSON COUNTY.
SPECIAL ORDER MAKING ALTERATION IN RIDINGS AND FIXING
REPRESENTATION.

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Counties Act,
1908, and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, the
Hobson County Council hereby resolves by way of special
order, as follows:

The present division of the Hobson County into eleven
ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall
be divided into twelve ridings, to be called respectively
Kopuru Riding, Aratapu Riding, Kaihu Riding, Waipoua
Riding, Tutamoe Riding, Awakino Riding, Tangowahine
Riding, Maungaru Riding, Tangiteroria Riding, Omanu Riding,
Arapohue Riding, Okahu Riding, which said ridings are
respectively described in the Schedule hereto. The said
Hobson County Council shall consist of twelve members,
each riding to be represented by one member, who shall be
elected by the electors of that riding.

The alterations hereby made shall take effect on and after
the 20th day of October, 1920.

SCHEDULE.
Aratapu Riding.

All that area as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 66,
of the 9th day of July, 1914, page 2738.

Kopuru Riding.

All that area as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 66,
of the 9th day of July, 1914, page 2738.

Arapohue Riding.

All that area as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 66,
of the 9th day of July, 1914, page 2738.

Okahu Riding.

All that area as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 66,
of the 9th day of July, 1914, page 2738.

Tangiteroria Riding.

Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 5,
Block IV, Maungaru Survey District, and bounded towards
the east generally by the western boundary of said section
to a public road, by a right line across said public road to
the Waiotama River, by said river to the Ngawhakarikiriki
Block; thence by that block and the Panekuri Block to a
public road, by said public road where it forms part of the
southern boundaries of the Panekuri and Te Iweri Blocks to
the Tangihua River, by said river to a forest reserve in
Block VIII aforesaid, by said forest reserve to Section 15,
Block I, Tangihua Survey District, by that section and Sections 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, and 8, all of Block I aforesaid,
to the said block boundary; thence by part of the aforesaid
block boundary and part of the eastern boundary of
Block VII aforesaid to a subdivision of Walton's Grant
numbered 2A; thence towards the south generally by that
subdivision of said grant and Subdivision 1A of the aforesaid grant to the Whangai-Mokopuna Block; thence
by said block to the south-eastern corner of Section 12 of
Block VII, Tangihua Survey District; thence by Subdivision
No. 1 of Walton's Grant to and across a public road to the
Wairoa River; thence towards the west generally by the
said river to the Whangarei County boundary as described
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 78, of the 2nd day of September, 1920, page 2577; thence towards the north generally
by the said county boundary to the point of commencement.

Omana Riding.

Commencing at the northernmost angle of the Whangai-
Mokopuna Block, and bounded towards the east generally by

the Tangiteroria Riding hereinbefore described to Walton's
Grant to the north-eastern corner of Section 44 of a subdivision of the said grant, and by the eastern boundary of that
subdivision to the Tauraroa River, by that river to its confluence with the Mangonui River; thence towards the south
and south-west generally by the last-named river to its
confluence with the Wairoa River; thence towards the north-west generally by the last-named river to the Tangiteroria
Riding hereinbefore described; thence towards the north
generally by the said riding to the point of commencement.

Tangowahine Riding.

Commencing on the Whangarei County boundary at the
north-eastern corner of Section 5, Block X, Tutamoe Survey
District, and bounded towards the north generally by the
said county boundary to the south-western corner of Section
84, Block X, Mangakahia Survey District; thence towards
the east generally by a forest reserve and a State forest reserve
to its intersection with the western boundary of Block XIV,
Mangakahia Survey District, by the said block boundary
to the northern boundary of Section 34, Block I, Maungaru
Survey District; thence by part of the southern boundary
of aforementioned State forest reserve to the western boundary of
Block II aforesaid; thence by the said boundary of that
survey-district block to the westernmost corner of Section
2, being a subdivision of the Maungaru Block as shown on
plan number 8703 deposited at the office of the District Land
Registrar at Auckland, by the said Section 2 and a further
subdivision of the Maungaru Block, containing 3,652 acres,
as shown on plan number 7719 deposited at the office of the
District Land Registrar at Auckland, to the Wairoa River;
then towards the south generally by the said river to the
Ounuwhao Block; then towards the west generally by the
said block to the Kaihu-Maungaru Survey District block
line, by said block line to a public road, by said public road
to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block XVI, Tutamoe
Survey District, by that section, the Kairara Kauri-gum
Reserve, an area of Crown land, to a State forest reserve.in
Block XV, Tutamoe Survey District, by said State forest
reserve and Sections 10, 9, 8, all of Block XV, Tutamoe
Survey District, to the eastern boundary of Block XIV
aforesaid, by the said block boundary and part of the eastern
boundary of Block X aforesaid to the point of commencement.

Maungaru Riding.

Commencing at the Wairoa River on the southern boundary
of the Tangowahine Riding hereinbefore described, and
bounded towards the west generally by the said riding to the
Whangarei County boundary as described in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 78, of the 2nd day of September, 1920, page 2577;
then towards the north generally by the said Whangarei
County boundary to the Wairoa River; then towards the
east and south generally by the said Wairoa River to the
point of commencement.

Kaihu Riding.

Commencing at the high-water mark at the southern
boundary of the Kai-iwi Extension No. 1 Kauri-gum Reserve,
and bounded towards the north generally by the said kauri-
gum reserve, the Taharoa Block, the Kai-iwi Extension No. 2
Kauri-gum Reserve, and a subdivision of the Opanake Block
to the Kaihu River, by the said river to a point which would
intersect the production of the south-eastern boundary of
Section 11, being a subdivision of the Opanake Block, by a
right line across the aforementioned river to the said boundary
of that section, then by the said Section 11 to and across a
public road, and again by the before-mentioned section and
Section 8 of the said Opanake Block, an area of Crown land in
Block XIV, Tutamoe Survey District, to Section 12, being a
forest reserve in Block XV aforesaid, by the said section to the
western boundary of Block XVI, Tutamoe Survey District
then towards the east generally by the last-mentioned block
boundary to the northernmost corner of Section 14, Block IV,
Kaihu Survey District, by Sections 13, 2, and 4 to the Waimata
Settlement, then by that settlement to the northern corner of
Section 4, Block VII aforesaid, by that section and the Kaihu
No. 2 Block to the Kaihu River, by said river to the Dargaville
Borough boundary as described in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 38, of the 14th of May, 1908, page 1360; thence towards
the south generally by the said borough boundary to the
Aoroa Block, and by the said block to the sea; thence towards
the west generally by the sea to the point of commencement.

Awakino Riding.

Commencing at the Tangowahine Riding hereinbefore
described at its intersection with the eastern boundary of
Block XV, Tutamoe Survey District, and bounded towards
the north and east generally by the said riding to the Wairoa
River; then by that river to the Dargaville Borough
boundary as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 38,
of the 14th of May, 1908, page 1360; then towards the
south generally by the said borough boundary to the Kaihu
Riding hereinbefore described; then towards the west
generally by the said riding to the point of commencement.
