Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 31st August, 1920.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Tauranga, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, public notice is hereby given of the result of a poll of ratepayers taken on the 31st day of July, 1920, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £2,500 for metalling main roads in the Te Puke Riding of the County of Tauranga.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 33, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on a Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mahoenui District Special Rating Area taken on the 16th day of August, 1920, on the proposal of the Awakino County Council to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of purchasing a complete stone-crushing plant, together with the buildings and other accessories necessary for the proper working of same, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 41, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3; the number of informal votes recorded was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the Kahutara River District, County of Featherston.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the River Boards Amendment Act, 1913, praying that the areas described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Kahutara River District, constituted by Proclamation dated the seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 12, of the same date. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice, such petitions or objections to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREAS PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE KAHUTARA RIVER DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost point of Section 19, Block XIV, Wairarapa Survey District, and proceeding thence along the Opoura Stream to and along the south-western boundary of the Kahutara River District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1907, page 3543, to the Whakawerawera Stream; thence along the right bank of that stream and the Ruamahanga River to a road intersecting Mapuna-Atea Native Reserve; thence along the eastern side of that road to the south-eastern corner of Otaupuararo No. 1 Block, and along the south-eastern boundary of that block for a distance of 40 chains; thence along a right line bearing 313°, distance 62 chains, to the western boundary of Otaupuararo No. B 4 Block, and along the north-western boundary of that block to and along the southern boundaries of Sections 38 and 17 for a distance of 42 chains; thence north-easterly along a right line bearing 35°, distance 88 chains, to the north-eastern corner of Section 44, Block XIII;
thence due east along a right line for a distance of 33 chains, and north-easterly along a right line bearing 57°, distance 40 chains, to a point on the eastern side of a road intersecting Section 17, Block XIV, Wairarapa Survey District; thence north-easterly along the eastern side of that road to the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 17, and along that boundary, the northern boundary of Section 38, and the western boundaries of Sections 39 and 19 to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid bearings and distances more or less.
Also all that area, being part of Kahautara No. 1 Block bounded towards the north-west by the Kahautara Main Road, 850 links; towards the north-east by lines bearing 142°, 1200 links, and 159°, 1900 links; towards the south-east by a right line bearing 218°, 2100 links; and towards the south-west by Section 3, Block XIV, Wairarapa Survey District: be all the aforesaid bearings and distances more or less.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VIII, Hundalee Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block VIII, Hundalee Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Hundalee, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Situated in Block VIII, Hundalee Survey District.
In the Marlborough Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 49419, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Manaia Town Board has, by special order, declared gorse (Ulex europæus), ragwort (Senecio jacobæa), pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium), ox-eye daisy (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum), and burdock (Arctium, any species) to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction.
