THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the
Council of the County of Opotiki, are published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913.

OPOTIKI COUNTY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the County of Opotiki taken on the 10th day of July, 1920,
on the proposal of the Opotiki County Council to borrow
the sum of £16,000 for the formation, construction, and
metalling of the main East Coast Road (£12,000), and the
purchase of two motor-lorries and plans (£4,000), the number
of votes recorded for the proposal was 276, and the number
of votes recorded against the proposal was 119.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the
County of Opotiki taken on the 10th day of July, 1920, on the
proposal of the Opotiki County Council to borrow the sum of
£2,000 for-
Building and construction of municipal and county joint offices in Church Street, Opotiki.. 4,000
Less amount to be provided by the Opotiki Borough Council .. 2,000
£2,000
the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 251, and
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 145.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Board of the Mangapapa Town District, are published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913.

MANGAPAPA TOWN BOARD.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 1st day of July, 1920, a
proposal was submitted by the Mangapapa Town Board to
the ratepayers of the town district for raising a special loan of
£1,950 for sanitary service at Mangapapa, and that the
number of votes recorded respectively for and against the
proposal was as follows: For, 172; against, 140; informal, 16.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 1st day of July, 1920, a
proposal was submitted by the Mangapapa Town Board to
the ratepayers of the town district for raising a special loan
of £4,690 for roads and levels at Mangapapa, and that the
number of votes recorded respectively for and against the
proposal was as follows: For, 162; against, 150; informal, 16.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 1st day of July, 1920, a
proposal was submitted by the Mangapapa Town Board to
the ratepayers of the town district for raising a special loan of
£3,220 for rebuilding three bridges--viz., Upper Stout Street
Bridge and approaches (across the Mangapapa Stream),
Oswald Street Bridges and approaches, and Massey Street
Bridge and approaches; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 153; against, 155; informal, 20.
And I declare the said proposal to be not carried.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 1st day of July, 1920, a
proposal was submitted by the Mangapapa Town Board to
the ratepayers of the town district for raising a special
