Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Ashburton County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of August, 1920.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been permanently reserved for plantation purposes:
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Ashburton County Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section two of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment Act, 1914, doth hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the Ashburton County Council.

Appointing Commissioners to classify Pastoral Runs in Southland Land District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the two-hundred-and-twenty-fifth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint THOMAS BROOK, JAMES FLEMING, and HENRY JONATHAN MIDDLETON Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural lands in the Southland Land District known as Runs Nos. 214A, Nokomai; 187C and 187D, Wairaki and Takitimo; 530, Takitimo; 494, Forest Hill; 173A and 415A/1, Takitimo; 323, Eyreside, Kingston, and South Wakatipu; 323A, Kingston, Nokomai, Lorne, and Rockyside; 6 and 420A, Eyreside, Eyre North, South Wakatipu, and Kingston; 5, Eyre North, Eyreside, and South Wakatipu; as provided by the said section two hundred and twenty-five.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the second section of the Timber-floating Act, 1908, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the undermentioned inlet and its tributaries may be used under license for the purposes of the said Act.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section thirty-seven of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1914, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, deeming it expedient in the public interest so to do, do hereby cancel the reservation over the primary-education reserves described in the First Schedule hereto, and do hereby reserve in lieu thereof the Crown land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Ruapekapeka Pa Scenic Board.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), for the period of three years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,
HARRY CLOUGH BLUNDELL;
ENOCH DOEL;
CHARLES SEORIM GOODHUE;
JOHN ALEXANDER LINDSAY HALL;
WILLIAM MIDDLETON;
CHARLES FREDRICK CHIPMAN MILLER;
ALBERT HENRY MORGAN;
VERNON HERBERT REED, M.P.; and WILLIAM STEWART, M.L.C.,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Ruapekapeka Pa Scenic Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,
- The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the fourth Monday in the months of January, April, July, and October in each year, at four o’clock p.m., at the Bay of Islands Newspaper Company’s Office, Kawakawa, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the eighth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.
- The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter provided, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.
- Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days' notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.
- Any five members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
- All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.
- If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman for such meeting.
- If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.
