Prohibiting all Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of August, 1920

Present:

His Excellency the Administrator Presiding in Council.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Teviot Electric-power Board.—First Election.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of August, 1920.

Present:

His Excellency the Administrator Presiding in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the twenty-eighth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, as the day on which shall be held the first election of representatives of the constituent districts in the Teviot Electric-power District, being a district duly constituted under the said Act by Proclamation dated the sixteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of August, 1920.

His Excellency the Administrator Presiding in Council.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, regulations were made under the authority of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), inter alia, fixing the rates of charges for the transmission through the medium of the Post Office of money-orders: And whereas it is expedient to amend such rates of charges in the manner hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the rates of charges fixed by the above-mentioned Order in Council for the transmission through the medium of the Post Office of money-orders payable in the United States of America (including Hawaii and the territory of Porto Rico) and Canada, and in lieu thereof doth hereby fix the rates of charges set forth in the Schedule hereto: and doth hereby direct that this Order in Council shall be read together with and form part of the Order in Council first herein mentioned, and shall have effect on and after the fifteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

MONEY-ORDERS BY POST.

Payable in the United States of America (including Hawaii and territory of Porto Rico) and Canada 6d. for each £1 or fraction thereof.

Validating Proceedings in connection with the Raising of a Loan of £10,000 by the Council of the County of Franklin.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of August, 1920.

Present:

His Excellency the Administrator Presiding in Council.

WHEREAS the Franklin County Council, lately proposed to raise a loan of ten thousand pounds, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of constructing roads in the Awhitu Riding:

And whereas section nine of the said Act provides that a notice setting forth the proposal to raise the loan shall be published once in each week for four successive weeks:

And whereas the notice setting forth the proposal to raise the loan was not published once in each week for four successive weeks, inasmuch that the said notices were published in the Waiuku News on the twenty-seventh and thirtieth days of January, and the sixth and thirteenth days of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity or defect, and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the proceedings taken to raise the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the notice of proposal to raise the loan had been published in the manner prescribed in section nine aforesaid; and that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.
