Thursday, the 8th July, 1920, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—
“ That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting
that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue
its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and
accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily; and
that W. J. A. THOMSON, of Auckland, Accountant, be and he
is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such
winding-up.”

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROADS.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, by the Waitemata County Council, to execute certain public works—to wit, construction of roads through Ongarahu A No. 2, Ongarahu A No. 3, Maramatawhana A No. 2B, Maramatawhana A No. 2, Maramatawhana A No. 1, Lot 2 on D.P. 11726, Ururua No. 3B, Ururua No. 1c, No. 2A, and Ururua No. 1c No. 1, all situated in Block No. VI of the Survey District of Kumeu ; and for the purpose of such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is further given that the plans of the said roads and of the lands so required to be taken are deposited for public inspection at the office of the Waitemata County Council, No. 410 New Zealand Insurance Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland.
And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of such public works or by the taking of such lands shall, if they have well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Council Office, Auckland.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of five thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Napier Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings, the said Napier Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Napier, comprising the whole of the Borough of Napier; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off..

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.
PEERSWICK LOAN.-SPECIAL RATING AREA.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £3,900, authorized to be raised by the Waimairi County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of concrete channelling, asphalt ing footpaths, grading, and a concrete invert at Peerswick, in the Middleton Riding in the County of Waimairi, the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and fifteen-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Peerswick Loan Special Rating Area; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the loan of £1,640, authorized to be raised by the said Council, under section 41 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of paying the same to the Hawke’s Bay Hospital and Charitable Aid Board as the Council’s contribution towards the said Board’s capital expenditure, the said Napier Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2/109ths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Napier; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BALCLUTHA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Balclutha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Balclutha Borough Council River Protection Embankment Loan of £1,000, 1920, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of widening and strengthening the river-protection embankment, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing (¼d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Balclutha; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½), years or until the loan is fully paid off.
