Proclaiming Native Land to be vested in His Majesty under Section 368 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-eight of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided, inter alia, that the Crown may purchase any Native land in pursuance of a resolution of the assembled owners passed and confirmed in accordance with Part XVIII of the said Act; and on the resolution being adopted by the Native Land Purchase Board it shall become a contract of purchase as between the Crown and all persons who are the owners of the land; and the Governor-General may, by Proclamation, at any time after the contract of purchase has been so made, declare that the land so purchased is vested in his Majesty the King, and it shall vest accordingly and shall become Crown land:

And whereas a resolution was passed by a meeting of assembled owners, and duly confirmed by the Aotea District Maori Land Board, that the land set out in the Schedule hereto be sold to the Crown:

And whereas the Native Land Purchase Board has adopted such resolution:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and sixty-eight of the said Act, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land set out in the Schedule hereto is vested in His Majesty the King.

WHAKAIHUWAKA C 131 No. 1e Block: Approximate area, 3,038 acres 1 rood 37 perches; Taurakawa and Omara Survey Districts.

Land set apart for Selection.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section sixty-three of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is, amongst other things, enacted that in no case shall any moneys be expended under the provisions of the said section sixty-three in connection with any block of land, unless that block is set apart for selection under that section pursuant to Proclamation in that behalf:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the aforesaid Act, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for selection.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—WAIMARINO TOWN BLOCK (No. 2).

Sections 6, 7, and 9–14 (inclusive), Block II; Sections 14–17 (inclusive) and 19–21 (inclusive), Block III; Sections 9–11 (inclusive) and 13–16 (inclusive), Block IV; Sections 1–8 (inclusive), 10–17 (inclusive), and 19–21 (inclusive), Block V; Sections 2–5 (inclusive) and 7–12 (inclusive), Block VI; Sections 7–13 (inclusive), 15, and 16, Block IX; and Sections 1–5 (inclusive), Block X, Town of Waimarino.

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor-General; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing 107 acres 2 roods, more or less, and being Reserve 1703, situate in Blocks VII and XI, Waiho Survey District. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/251, deposited at the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged purple.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of July, 1920.

WHEREAS the Land Board of the Auckland Land District has recommended that the Crown tenants of the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto should be afforded relief, owing to exceptional circumstances over which they have no control preventing the profitable occupation of such lands:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section twenty-five of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1911, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto to be subject to the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-seven of the Land Act, 1908; and I do further fix three years from the date mentioned in the said Schedule as the period for which the said lands shall be exempt from payment of rent.
