Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, amended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of July, 1920.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the regulations and fix the charges set forth in the Schedule hereto for the receiving, despatching, conveying, and delivering of postal packets, for the transmission, delivery, and payment of money-orders and postal notes, and for the transmission of telegrams; and doth order and declare that any regulations and charges of similar purport heretofore made are hereby revoked in so far as they are not in agreement with the regulations and charges made in the said Schedule, but that otherwise any such other regulations and charges shall remain in full force and virtue, and shall be read and applied together with the regulations and charges hereby made and fixed; and doth further order and declare that such revocation and the regulations and charges hereby made and fixed shall have effect on and after the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

SCHEDULE.

LETTERS AND LETTER-CARDS.

Inland . . . . {2d. for the first 2 oz. or fraction thereof,
and 1d. for each additional 2 oz. or
fraction thereof.

All other places to which Postal Union {2d. for the first ounce or fraction thereof,
rates do not apply and 1d. for each additional ounce or
fraction thereof.

Late fee . . . . 2d.

POST-CARDS.

Inland . . . . {1½d. for a single card; 3d. for a reply
card.

Late fee . . . . 2d.

PACKETS (comprising Commercial Papers, Books and Printed Papers, Pattern and Sample Packets, and Unregistered Magazines).

Inland . . . . {1½d. for each 4 oz. or fraction thereof
up to 1 lb., and 2d. for each additional
pound or fraction thereof up to 5 lb.

REGISTERED MAGAZINES.

Inland . . . . {2d. for each copy if not exceeding 8 oz.,
and 2d. for each additional 8 oz. or
fraction thereof.

Australia, Fiji, and islands in Pacific to } Ditto.
which postage is the same as to Australia
at present

NEWSPAPERS.

Inland . . . . 1d. each.

REGISTRATION.

For any place . . . . 3d.

PARCELS.

Inland . . . . {6d. for the first pound; 2d. for each
additional pound or fraction thereof up
to 6 lb.; 1d. for each additional pound or
fraction thereof between 6 lb. and 28 lb.
An additional fee of 6d. is charged on all
inland parcels, except parcels, containing
fishing-rods, golf-sticks, &c., exceeding 3 ft. 6 in. in length, which
the senders desire forwarded to destination in hampers.

INSURANCE OF PARCELS.

Inland . . . . 3d. up to £2.

GOVERNMENT PACKAGES.

Inland . . . . {6d. for the first pound; 2d. for each
additional pound or fraction thereof up
to 6 lb.; 1d. for each additional pound
or fraction thereof between 6 lb. and
28 lb.

Hansard . . . . 2d. per pound or fraction thereof of
separate packages weighed together.
