Waiau Riding.
All that portion of the Wairoa County, in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, Dominion of New Zealand, bounded as follows:—
Commencing at a point where the western boundary of Frasertown Riding joins the sea-coast, thence following the western boundary of the said Frasertown Riding along the Wairoa River to a point where the Waiau and Wairoa Rivers join; thence in a westerly direction following the Waiau River to the junction of the Tutaekuri Block, Block 15, Taramarama Survey District; thence in a general westerly direction following the south boundary of the Tutaekuri Block to the junction of the Waiau River; thence in a general westerly direction following the Waiau River to the eastern boundary of Block 13, Waiau Survey District; thence in a northerly direction following the eastern boundaries of Blocks 13 and 6, Waiau Survey District, to the north-east corner of Block 6; thence following the northern boundary of Block 6 to the boundary of Block 5; thence in northerly, westerly, and south-westerly directions following the west, north, and north-west boundaries of Block 5, Waiau Survey District, to the boundary of Waiau West Survey District; thence following the north boundary of Waiau West Survey District to the boundary of Mangahopai Survey District; thence in a north-westerly direction following the northern boundaries of Blocks 7, 6, and 2, Mangahopai Survey District, to the northernmost point of Block 2 where section line joins; thence in a north-westerly direction following section line to the summit of Mangataniwha; and thence in a north-westerly direction following section line to the junction with the northern boundary of Wairoa County; thence following the north and west boundaries of the Wairoa County to section line in Block 20, Mangahopai Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction following section line which runs diagonally through Blocks 20, 21, 16, and 17, to the junction with the southern boundary of Te Putere B Block, Block 17, Mangahopai Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction following the southern boundary of Te Putere B Block, to the junction with Te Putere No. 1 Block; and thence following the south-western boundary of Te Putere No. 1 Block in a south-easterly direction to the Otara Stream; thence in a southerly direction following the Otara Stream to the northern boundary of Block 2, Mohaka Survey District; thence in a general easterly direction following the northern boundaries of Blocks 2, 3, and 4, Mohaka Survey District, and Block 1, Waihua Survey District, to the junction of the Waihua River; thence in a south-easterly direction following the Waihua River to the sea-coast; and then in an easterly direction along the sea-coast to the west boundary of Frasertown, the commencing-point.
Waikaremoana Riding.
All that portion of the Wairoa County, in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, Dominion of New Zealand, bounded as follows:—
Commencing at the junction of the Wairoa and Waiau Rivers where the Frasertown and Waiau Ridings, hereinbefore described, join; thence in a northerly direction following the west boundary of Frasertown Riding to its junction with the Ruakituri Riding hereinbefore described; thence in north-westerly and westerly directions following the south boundary of the Ruakituri Riding to its junction with the northern boundary of the Wairoa County; thence in a south-easterly direction following the northern boundary of the Wairoa County to the junction of the Waiau Riding; thence following the northern boundary of the Waiau Riding in a south-easterly direction to its junction with Frasertown Riding, the commencing-point.
Mohaka Riding.
All that portion of the Wairoa County, in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, Dominion of New Zealand, bounded as follows:—
Commencing at the sea-coast where the south-west boundary of the Waiau Riding joins; and thence in a general north-westerly direction following the south-west boundary of the Waiau Riding hereinbefore described, to its junction with the Wairoa County boundary; thence following the boundary of the Wairoa and Hawke’s Bay Counties in a south-easterly direction to the sea-coast; and thence along the sea-coast in a north-easterly direction to the junction of the south-west boundary of the Waiau Riding, the commencing-point.
I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was duly passed at a special meeting of the Wairoa County Council held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, the 10th day of April, 1920, and was duly submitted to and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council held on Saturday, the 8th day of May, 1920.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Makerua Drainage District, Counties of Horowhenua and Kairanga.

Wellington, 20th July, 1920.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Makerua Drainage District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed inclusion which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN THE MAKERUA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the west and north-west by the Manawatu River; towards the north-east by the road forming the eastern boundaries of Section 161, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and Section 157, Block I, Arawaru Survey District; and towards the south-east by the Makerua Drainage District as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1909, page 1888.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north-west by the Manawatu River; towards the north-east by the Makerua Drainage District as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1909, page 1888; towards the south-east by the Wellington–Manawatu Railway line; and towards the south-west by the Borough of Shannon to the road through Section 649, Town of Shannon, and by that road and the Shannon–Foxton Road to the Manawatu River.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, George James Anderson, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Friday, the 6th August, 1920, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Petone Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Thomas Sutcliffe.
