Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Raglan, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Karioi Riding of the County of Raglan, taken on the 10th day of July, 1920, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £5,500 for the purpose of forming and metalling various roads in the Karioi Riding: Total number of valid votes recorded, 117; for the proposal, 113; against the proposal, 4.

The total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

COUNTY OF MASTER TON.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Manawa Special Rating Area, in the County of Masterton, was taken on Thursday, the 20th day of May, 1920, on the proposal of the Masterton County Council to borrow the sum of £500 for the purpose of forming and grading the Manawa Road.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 4, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Manawa Special Rating Area, in the County of Castlepoint, was taken on Thursday, the 20th day of May, 1920, on the proposal of the Castlepoint County Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of forming and grading the Manawa Road.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 6, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following special order, made by the Waikohu County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

WAIKOHU COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order made on Friday, the 16th Day of April, 1920, and confirmed on Friday, the 11th Day of June, 1920.

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section twenty-three of the Counties Act, 1908, the Waikohu County Council resolves by way of special order as follows:—

(1.) That the present division of the county into five ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into seven ridings, to be called respectively Karaka Riding, Kanakanaia Riding, Waipaoa Riding, Mangatu Riding, Motu Riding, Ngatapa Riding, and Waihuka Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

(2.) The said Waikohu County Council shall consist of seven members, who shall be elected as follows: The electors of the said seven ridings shall each elect one Councillor.

(3.) The alterations hereby made shall take effect on and after the 1st day of April, 1921.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waikohu was hereto affixed, in the presence of—

SCHEDULE.

Kanakanaia Riding.

Commencing at a point in the Waipaoa River at the junction with the existing county boundary between the Cook and Waikohu Counties on the east side of Waihora IA, proceeding in a northerly direction and bounded on the east generally by the said Cook-Waikohu county boundary to its junction with the Waingaromia River at the north of Lot 3 of Waingaromia Ic; thence in a south-westerly direction and bounded on the north-west generally by the north-west boundary of Lot 3, being part of Waingaromia Ic and Lot 7 of Waipaoa 2, as delineated on D.P. 1696, and of Lot 4, being part Waingaromia Ic, Lots 5 and 6, Waipaoa No. 2, part Waitangi 1 South and 2 South, as delineated on D.P. 1697; thence to its junction with the north boundary of Lot 5 (D.P. 1698) at its junction with the Waingaromia River; thence on the south-west by the south-west boundary of the said Lot 4 and its junction with the County Road; thence following the centre of the said road between Lots 4 and 5 to the south corner of Lot 4; thence on the north-west generally by the north-west boundaries of Sections 1, 2, and 3 of Block X, Waingaromia Survey District; thence on the north-west by the north boundary of Lot 2 and Lot 1 (D.P. 2139) of Lot 5 (1698), Waingaromia C; thence by the north-west boundary of assessments 2/8A/168, being a lease of 295 acres, portion of Lot 5 of D.P. 1698, to the Mokaihau Trig. Station; thence bounded on the north-west and west generally by the north-west boundary of Hauomatuku No. 6 to the south-east corner of Hauomatuku No. 13 Block; thence on the north generally by a stream being on the north boundary of Rangitira No. 2 Block to its junction with Rangitira 3A; thence on the west by the east boundary of Rangitira 3A 3A Block to the south-east corner of the said Rangitira 3A 3A, thence by an imaginary straight line to the most northerly corner of Rangitira 3E 1 Block; continuing in a southerly direction and bounded on the west by the east boundary of Rangitira No. 2 to its most southerly point; thence in a north-westerly direction and bounded on the north-east by the south-west boundary of Rangitira No. 2 to its junction with the Waipaoa River; thence in a south-east direction generally by the centre of the Waipaoa River to the point of commencement.

Waipaoa Riding.

Commencing at the junction of the Waipaoa and Waikohu Rivers, and proceeding in a westerly direction by the centre of the Waikohu River to the centre of the Waikohu Bridge on the Puha-Whatatutu Road; thence in a northerly direction generally by the centre of the said Puha-Whatatutu Road to its junction with the Mangatu Road; thence by the centre-line of the Mangatu main road to its junction with the Armstrong Road; thence by the centre of the aforesaid Armstrong Road to its junction with the Tarndale Road (being access road to Lot 18 of Mangatu No. 1 Block); thence by the centre of the said Tarndale Road to its termination at a point on the west boundary of Lot 18, Mangatu No. 1; thence by the west boundary of the aforesaid Lot 18 to Pukekiore Trig. Station; thence in a westerly and north-easterly direction by the south and west boundary of Lot 1 of 27 of Mangatu No. 1 Block to its junction with the south-west boundary of Lot 1 of Mangatu No. 6; thence in a north-westerly direction by the aforesaid south-west boundary of Lot 1 of Mangatu No. 6 to its junction with the Waikohu-Opotiki county boundary; thence in a north-easterly direction by the aforesaid county boundaries to its junction with the Waiapu County boundary; thence in a south-easterly direction by the southern boundary of the aforesaid
