UAWA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Uawa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £7,000, authorized to be raised by the Uawa County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings, the said Uawa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Uawa County Special Rating District, comprising the whole of the Uawa County as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 30, page 727, dated 9th March, 1916; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be 4½ per cent.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
THE Partnership hitherto subsisting between LILIAN BLACK (formerly BILLING) and WILLIAM C. MULLER, carrying on business under the firm-name of “J. Billing and Co.,” as Bakers and Pastrycooks at Cambridge, is hereby mutually dissolved. The business will be carried on as before by the said WILLIAM C. MULLER, to whom all moneys owing to the Partnership are payable, and the said WILLIAM C. MULLER will discharge all liabilities.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitomo County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the acquiring and construction of a gravel-pit; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate in Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
Any person affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

APPROXIMATE area of parcels of land required to be taken :
4 acres 0 roods 0·08 perch.
Being portion of Waipa River, situate in Block IV, Orahiri Survey District.

ADAMS DRAPERY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held at Timaru on the 5th day of July, 1920, the following extraordinary resolution was passed, viz. :—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908; and that Mr. F. A. RAYMOND, of Timaru, Public Accountant, be hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

THE PATENTS, DESIGNS, AND TRADE-MARKS ACT, 1911.
In the matter of Letters Patent of GEORGE FELL HUTCHINSON, of Hawera, New Zealand, Motor Engineer, formerly of Kapuni, New Zealand, and bearing date the 8th February, 1907, and numbered 22408, in respect of “An improved hydraulic vacuum pump.”
NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the above-named GEORGE FELL HUTCHINSON, to present a petition to the Supreme Court of New Zealand, praying that the term of the said letters patent may be extended.
And notice is hereby further given that on the 8th August, 1920, or on such subsequent day as the Court shall appoint for that purpose, application will be made to the Court that a day may be fixed before which the petition will not be heard, and any person desirous of being heard in opposition to the said petition must lodge notice of his objection at the Registry of the said Court at Wellington on or before the said 8th day of August, 1920. The petitioner’s address for service is at the office of Messrs. Henry Hughes (Limited), Featherston Street, in the City of Wellington.

BALCLUTHA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Balclutha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Balclutha Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of completing work under loan of £3,000 for purchasing site, sinking new bore, constructing reservoirs, and making necessary alterations and additions to existing waterworks plant to provide the borough with an improved water-supply, the said Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Balclutha; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

GREYTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and the Greytown Borough Loan Empowering Act, 1919, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Greytown Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Greytown Borough Council Special Loan of £2,840, 1920, authorized to be raised by the Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of refunding to its General Account the said sum of two thousand eight hundred and forty pounds (£2,840) paid by it out of the said General Account in carrying out the erection of gasworks, plant, buildings, gas-meters, main sewers, and street lamps incidental thereto, in excess of the amount received by it in respect of the loans raised for the said works, and in the carrying-out and completion of the installation of the water-supply and drainage of the said borough in excess of the loans raised for such work, and in payment of law costs and expenses in connection with and incidental to the settlement of the claim by the contractor for the construction of the said works, and in repayment to the General Account of interest on additional bank overdraft to the extent of the extra sums expended out of the General Account in excess of the sums received in respect of loans raised for the erection of gasworks, plant, buildings, gas-meters, main sewers, and street lamps incidental thereto, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence and one farthing (3¼d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual letting value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Greytown; and
