Abolition of a Special Roading District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power conferred on me by subsection (6) of section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, I do hereby declare that the Mangatiti-Waipapa Special Roading District, as constituted by a notice published in the Gazette of the 20th day of December, 1917, is hereby abolished as from and including the 1st day of July, 1920.

Special Order made by the Bruce County Council altering the Boundaries and the Number of Ridings in that County, and adjusting Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Bruce County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

BRUCE COUNTY COUNCIL.

In exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Counties Act, 1908, the Bruce County Council resolves by way of special order as follows:-

  1. The present division of the county into nine ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into ten ridings, to be called respectively Tokomairiro Riding, Kaitangata Riding, Clarendon Riding, Crichton Riding, Glenledi Riding, Waihola Riding, Matau and Inch-Clutha Riding, Mount Stuart Riding, the boundaries of which shall be as the same have hitherto existed, and Balmoral No. 1 Riding and Balmoral No. 2 Riding, the boundaries of which are set out in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The said Bruce County Council shall consist of eleven members, who shall be elected as follows :-

(a.) The electors of Tokomairiro Riding shall elect two Councillors.

(b.) The electors of the Kaitangata Riding, the Clarendon Riding, the Crichton Riding, the Glenledi Riding, the Waihola Riding, the Mount Stuart Riding, the Matau and Inch-Clutha Riding, the Balmoral No. 1 Riding, and the Balmoral No. 2 Riding shall each elect one Councillor.

  1. The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the 10th day of November, 1920.

SCHEDULE.

THE boundaries of the Balmoral No. 1 Riding shall be the boundaries of the Waitahuna West Subdivision of the Balmoral Road District, and the boundaries of the Balmoral No. 2 Riding shall be the boundaries of the Hillend Subdivision of the Balmoral Road District.

The above special order was made by resolution passed at a special meeting of the Bruce County Council held on the 2nd day of December, 1919, and confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 13th day of January, 1920.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Bruce was hereunto affixed, in the presence of--

WESTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL.

That the special order made by the Westland County Council by a resolution passed at a special meeting on the 31st day

eastern side of Osborne Terrace to the south-western corner of Allotment No. 50 on plan No. 2366, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence towards the east by the southern boundary of the aforesaid Allotment No. 50 and the southern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 11, 17, 16, and 15 on plan No. 1351, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, to the Awahuri Road; thence towards the north-east by the western side of Awahuri Road to Giesen Road; thence towards the west and north-east generally by the southern and western boundaries of the Borough of Feilding, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 25, of the 27th March, 1902, page 732, to the Feilding-Sandon Road; thence towards the west by the southern side of the Feilding-Sandon Road to the north-western corner of Allotment No. 23 on the aforesaid plan No. 999, the point of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the Borough of Hastings.

Wellington, 1st July, 1920.

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, being part of the County of Hawke's Bay, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General praying that the said area may be excluded from the said county and included in the Borough of Hastings. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF HASTINGS.

ALL that area in the Land District of Hawke's Bay, bounded towards the north-east by the centre-line of the Frimley Avenue, towards the south-east by the Borough of Hastings, towards the south-west by the centre-line of the Orchard Road, and towards the north-west by the centre-lines of the Canning Road, Omahu Road, and Factory Road.

Notice to Persons about to visit London.

Wellington, 5th July, 1920.

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that the High Commissioner has cabled advice that persons contemplating a visit to London should be warned of the difficulty in obtaining hotel or other accommodation, and the high cost of such accommodation.

The High Commissioner, cabling on 30th June, advised that first- and second-class berths for return to New Zealand were fully booked up to the end of December next, and shipping companies have long waiting-lists, and asked that the travelling public be acquainted with the present acute conditions and the uncertainty of securing return passages to New Zealand.
