The notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 61, of 24th
June, 1920, relating to Lieutenant Ernest Noel Walpy, is
cancelled.
N.Z. EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.
Lieutenant Thompson John Ennis is struck off the strength
of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force and his commission cancelled
under the provisions of section 5 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909.

Lieutenant Robert Burn is struck off the strength of the
N.Z. Expeditionary Force and posted to the Reserve of

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the
Council of the Borough of Picton, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913.

PICTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Borough of Picton taken on the 24th day of June,
1920, on the proposal of the Picton Borough Council, to
borrow the sum of £12,000 for the purpose of installing a
sewerage system in the No. 2 Special Drainage Area, being
the east and west portions of the borough, the number of
votes recorded for the proposal was 82, and the number of
votes recorded against the proposal was 15.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

KIRIKIRIROA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
Result of Poll for Loan.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local
Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the
following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the
Rototuna Special Rating District taken on the 17th day
of June, 1920, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £1,000
for the purpose of land drainage: Total number of votes
recorded, 28—for the proposal, 24; against the proposal, 4.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.—Joint Special Loan under
Part II.
NOTICE is hereby given that each of the local authorities
named in the Schedule hereunder (1) has taken all
the steps required to be taken under the above-named Act
prior to the raising of a special loan of the amount set opposite
the name of such local authority in the said Schedule; and
(2) has passed a resolution, as required by Part II of the
above-named Act, for the raising of a joint special loan of
the amount of £2,000 in union with the other said local autho-
rity; and (3) has complied with all other conditions prescribed
in the case of a joint special loan by the above-mentioned
Act; and (4) has named the Opotiki County Council to be
the agent of the other said local authority for the purposes
of the joint special loan, and to be the principal local autho-
rity as defined in Part II of the said Act.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of all Shops in the Borough of
Dargaville, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority
of the occupiers of all the shops in the Borough of
Dargaville, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such
shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-
days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and
Fridays at 6 p.m., and on Saturdays at 10 p.m., with the
following exceptions:—
(1.) The working-day immediately preceding Christmas
Day and the working-day immediately preceding New Year's
Day, when the closing-hour shall be 11 p.m.;
(2.) Should the occupier of any shop affected by this
requisition observe (pursuant to section 11 (2) of the Shops
and Offices Act, 1908) Saturday as the statutory closing-day,
then and in such case the closing-hour on Wednesday for
any such shop shall be 6 p.m., and the closing-hour on
Friday shall be 10 p.m.; and
(3.) Subject to exception (1) hereof, should the occupier
of any shop affected by this requisition observe (pursuant to
section 19 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908) any of the
special days therein mentioned other than Wednesday as the
statutory closing-day in any week, then and in such case the
closing-hour on Wednesday for any such shop in that week
shall be 6 p.m., and should such special day fall on Saturday
the closing-hour on Friday in that week shall be 10 p.m.:
And whereas the Dargaville Borough Council has certified
that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority
of the occupiers of all the shops in the Borough of Dargaville:
Now, therefore, I, William Herbert Herries, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that on and after the 16th day of
July, 1920, all the shops in the Borough of Dargaville shall
be closed accordingly.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the
Borough of Feilding.

Wellington, 1st July, 1920.
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations
Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a
petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less
than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the
Schedule hereto, being portion of the County of Manawatu,
has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General,
praying that the said area may be included in the Borough
of Feilding. All persons affected are hereby called upon to
lodge any written objections to or petitions against the pro-
posed alteration within one month from the first publication
of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed
and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF
FEILDING.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Allot-
ment No. 23 on plan 999, deposited in the office of the District
Land Registrar at Wellington, and proceeding in a southerly
direction along the western boundary of that allotment and
the production thereof to the north-western corner of Allot-
ment No. 26 on the aforesaid plan No. 999; thence towards
the west by the northern boundary of Allotment No. 25 on
the said plan for a distance of 204.6 links; thence towards
the south-east by lines bearing 171° 40' for a distance of
292.8 links, and 134° 12' for a distance of 112 links, to the
western boundary of the aforesaid Allotment No. 26; and
towards the south by the western boundaries of Allotments
Nos. 26 and 26A on the aforesaid plan No. 999 to the south-
western corner of the said Allotment No. 26A; thence to-
wards the west generally by the northern side of the Ranfurly
Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Allot-
ment No. 6 on the aforesaid plan No. 999; thence southerly
across Ranfurly Road to and by the eastern boundary of
Allotment No. 6 aforesaid to the northern boundary of
Allotment No. 4 on plan No. 2289, deposited in the office
of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence to-
wards the east by the said northern boundary of Allotment
No. 4 to a public road; thence towards the south generally
by the southern side of that road to the north-eastern corner
of Allotment No. 1 on the aforesaid plan No. 2289; again
towards the south by the eastern boundary of the aforesaid
Allotment No. 1 and that boundary produced to Glasgow
Terrace; thence towards the west by the northern side of
Glasgow Terrace to a point in line with the eastern side of
Windsor Terrace; thence towards the south by a right
line across Glasgow Terrace, and by the eastern side of
Windsor Terrace to Warwick Street; thence towards the
east by the northern side of Warwick Street to a point in
line with the eastern side of Osborne Terrace; again towards
