Notice of Change of the Purpose of a Reserve in Block XI,
Opunake Town, Taranaki Land District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the
said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case
of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the
Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for
which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
is a reserve duly set apart for police purposes, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said
Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided,
the purpose of such reserve so set apart:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred
on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare
that the purpose of the said reserve is hereby changed from
police purposes to a site for a public hospital. And I do
hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to
the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take
effect according to the provisions of that section.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by
admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Sections 1, 2, 3,
and 4, Block XI, Opunake Town. Bounded towards the
north by Park Place, 252 links; towards the east by Sections 5 and 6, Block XI aforesaid, 400 links; towards the
south by Carrington Street, 252 links; and towards the
west by McLean Terrace, 400 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the
plan marked L. and S. 6/8/12, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered pink.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the
Auckland Land District for other Land.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of
the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section seventeen
of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he
deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay
or receive by way of equality of exchange any sum not
exceeding twenty-five per centum of the estimated value of
the Crown land so granted:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it
is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the
First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described
in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land
described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such
exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid
powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his
intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land
described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the
fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE
EXCHANGED.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 3 roods 6·1 perches, more or less, being
Section 4, Block XIII, Rangiriri Survey District. Bounded
towards the south-east by the line along the centre of a
drain 1170·1 links; towards the north-west by Allotments
136 and 43, Whangape Parish, 896·6 and 314·1 links: be
all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 0 roods 19·9 perches,
more or less, being Section 5, Block XIII, Rangiriri Survey
District. Bounded towards the south-east by a line along
the centre of a drain, 1901·1 links; towards the south by a
public road, 333·4 links; and towards the north-west by
Allotment 136, Whangape Parish, 1874·3 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less.
As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and
S. 9/618, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland
plan No. 20361.)
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE
THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 33·5 perches, more or less,
being part of Allotment 43, Whangape Parish. Bounded
towards the north-east by Section 10, Block X, Rangiriri
Survey District, 808·6 links; towards the south-east by
Section 1, Block XIII, Rangiriri Survey District aforesaid,
902·2 links; and towards the west by a line along the centre
of a drain, 109·7 and 1106·8 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less.
Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 33·5 perches, more or less,
being part of Allotment 136, Whangape Parish. Bounded
towards the south-east by Section 1, Block XIII, Rangiriri
Survey District, 1518·1 and 131·4 links; towards the north-west by a line along the centre of a drain, 1390·2 and 262·2
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and
S. 9/618, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged yellow.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection by Discharged Soldiers on Renewable Lease.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare
that the national endowment lands described in the Schedule
hereto, which have been set apart for selection by discharged soldiers, shall be open for selection by discharged
soldiers on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-third
day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, at
the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also
declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject
to the provisions of the said Act and the Discharged Soldiers
Settlement Act, 1915.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.—
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Raglan County.—Karamu Parish.
SECTIONS 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, and 60: Area, 292 acres 2 roods;
capital value, £300; half-yearly rent, £6.
Undulating to broken land, half ploughable; 10 acres mixed
forest, balance fern and manuka. Soil poor to fair, but
generally poor; well watered by permanent stream and
several swamps. Fronts Hamilton–Raglan coach-road, about
eleven miles from Frankton Junction.
Opotiki County.—Urutawa Survey District.
Section 15, Block XIII: Area, 1,605 acres; capital value,
£1,000; half-yearly rent, £20.
Altitude, 400 ft. to 2,760 ft. above sea-level. Rough and
broken country, covered with heavy mixed forest comprising
tawa, rimu, hinau, rata, tawhero, and black-birch on ridges,
with thick undergrowth of horopito, mahoe, neinei, roru,
raurekau, and supplejack. Sandy soil of fair quality, on
slatey sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Distant about sixteen miles from Matawai Railway-station,
about ten miles of which is by formed road, balance bridle-track; or about thirty-six miles from Opotiki, about twenty-one miles of which is formed road, balance bridle-track.
Tauranga County.—Maketu Survey District.
Section 27, Block I: Area, 129 acres; capital value, £50;
half-yearly rent, £1.
Altitude, 600 ft. to 800 ft. above-sea-level. Broken, mostly
steep gullies, with about 1 acre of flat land on top of steep
