ridge; about 10 acres mixed forest comprising tawa, mangeao, rewarewa, &c., with thick undergrowth of wharangi, mako-mako, &c., balance fern and scrub. Black soil of good quality of a sandy nature, on pumice formation; well watered by small streams. Distant about five miles from Te Puke and about thirteen miles from Tauranga by formed road in each case.

Section 8, Block II : Area, 146 acres; capital value, £80 ; half-yearly rent, £1 12s.
Altitude, from 150 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Hilly broken country, covered with fern and manuka scrub, except about 40 acres of light mixed forest comprising a few rata trees, tawa, cedar, rewarewa, and manuka, with light under-growth of ferns and supplejack. Soil of inferior quality, red clay in open country and loamy in forest, on slate formation; well watered by streams. Situated about two miles from Port Charles by formed track.

Scenic Reserve Inspector appointed
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
JOHN DAVID STRATTON
to be an Inspector under the said Act in respect to the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
SILVERSTREAM SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 60 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, being part of Section 209, Hutt District, Block IV, Belmont Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by other part of the said Section 209; towards the south-east by the Hutt River; towards the south-west by Section 269, Hutt District (scenic reserve); and towards the north-west by Section 19 : being all the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 174, folio 197, Wellington Land Registration District.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 104 acres 3 roods 27 perches, more or less, being parts of Sections Nos. 269 and 270, Hutt District (Block IV, Belmont Survey District). Bounded towards the north-east by part of Section No. 209, 3956·7 links; towards the south-east by the Hutt River; towards the south by part of Section No. 196, 4250 links; towards the west by other part of said Section No. 270, bearing 41° 35', 299·3 links, 99° 6', 1097·6 links, 22° 17', 965·6 links; thence by other part of said Section No. 269, bearing 22° 17', 118 links, 326° 51', 822·5 links, 332° 13', 616·5 links, 36° 58', 1145·8 links, and 49° 41' 45'', 1308·7 links, to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 53872/30, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

Appointing a Member of the Wanganui Harbour Board.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS it is provided by section seventeen of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that the office of any member of a Harbour Board shall become vacant if, inter alia, he resigns his office by writing under his hand delivered to the Secretary or Chairman of the Board :
And whereas it is provided by subsection two of section eighteen of the said Act that when an elective member other than a representative of a constituent district vacates his office on the Board through the operation of the said section seventeen the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place :
And whereas Charles Evan Mackay, an elective member of the Wanganui Harbour Board, being the representative of the electors of the combined district of the Wanganui Borough and the Town Districts of Gonville and Castlecliff, has resigned his office as aforesaid, and it is desirable to appoint a
qualified person as a representative of the electors of the said combined district in his place :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint Percy Higginbottom, of Wanganui, to be a member of the Wanganui Harbour Board, as a representative of the electors of the combined district of the Borough of Wanganui and the Town Districts of Gonville and Castlecliff, in place of Charles Evan Mackay, resigned.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Warrant vesting Control of Portions of the Rautawhiri Road along the Boundary of the Waitemata County and Helensville Town District, and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance of the Same.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section twelve of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), as amended by section thirteen of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1910, it is provided that where a road or street lies along the boundary of two or more districts, whether that road or street is wholly within one or is partly within one and is partly within another of those districts, or is within none of those districts, the Governor-General may from time to time, by Warrant under his hand and gazetted, direct which of the local authorities of those districts shall have control of the road or street or of any part thereof; and may in like manner determine from time to time whether any other of those local authorities shall contribute to the cost of the construction or maintenance, or lighting, or widening, or reconstructing of that road or street, and, if so, in what proportions:
And whereas the portions of the Rautawhiri Road along the boundary of the Waitemata County and Helensville Town District described in the First and Second Schedules hereto form part of the boundary between the Helensville Town District and the County of Waitemata:
And whereas it is expedient that provision should be made under the said Act for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anyway enabling me in this behalf do hereby direct that, from and after the date of this Warrant, the portion of road described in the First Schedule hereto shall be under the control of the Waitemata County Council, and that the portion of road described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be under the control of the Helensville Town Board; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, I do hereby fix and determine the cost of construction or maintenance of, or lighting, or widening or reconstructing the said portions of roads shall be borne in the following proportions--viz., the Waitemata County Council shall bear the whole of such cost in respect to the portion of road described in the First Schedule hereto, and the Helensville Town Board shall bear the whole of such cost in respect to the portion of road described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Rautawhiri Road bounded, commencing at the south-western corner of Allotment 89 of the Parish of Ararimu; towards the north-east by a line crossing the road at right angles to the road, 100 links; towards the south-east by the Rautawhiri Block by a line bearing 226° 44', 3048·5 links; and by a line bearing 248° 47', 775·6 links; thence towards the south-west by a line crossing the road at right angles, 100 links; thence towards the north-west by the Rautawhiri and Rautawhiri No. 3 Blocks by a line bearing 68° 47', 777·5 links; and by the Rautawhiri No. 3 Block by a line bearing 46° 44', 3029 links, to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Rautawhiri Road bounded, commencing at the western extremity of the Rautawhiri No. 3 Block, towards the north-east by the Rautawhiri No. 3 and Rautawhiri Blocks by a line bearing 111° 17', 2651·3 links; thence towards the north-west by the Rautawhiri Block by a line bearing 68° 47', 1150 links; thence towards the north-east by a line crossing the road at right angles, 100 links; thence towards the south-east by the Rautawhiri Block and a public road by a line bearing 248° 47', 1189 links; thence towards
