Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

THAMES VALLEY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board was taken on the 12th day of May, 1920, on the proposal of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board to borrow the sum of £200,000 for the purchasing and constructing of electric works within the meaning of and pursuant to the Electric Power Boards Act, 1918.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,503, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 28, and the number of informal votes recorded was 10.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Abolition of a Special Roading District.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power conferred on me by subsection (6) of section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, I do hereby declare that the Hikimutu Special Road District as constituted by a notice published in the Gazette of the 2nd day of November, 1916, is hereby abolished as from and including the 1st day of April, 1920.

Closing of Government Industrial School and Establishment of Special School.

BY virtue of the powers vested in me by section 14 of the Industrial Schools Act, 1908, I, Christopher James Parr, Minister of Education, do hereby notify that the Government Industrial School known as the Boys’ Training-farm, Nelson, is hereby closed as an industrial school as from the 18th May, 1920, and shall henceforth be established as a Special School within the meaning of section 127 of the Education Act, 1914, and to be known officially as the Special School for Boys, Nelson.

USERS of New Zealand Publications of Nautical Tables are requested to kindly make the following corrections in their copies, viz. :—
On page 49 of Tables for Azimuth, Great Circle Sailing, and Reduction to the Meridian, abreast A and B corr. 4·20° and under latitude 60°, azimuth 24·5° should read 25·5°.
On page 20 of Tables of Calculated Hour Angles, &c., abreast True Alt. 32° and under Decl. 15°, H.A. 3 h. 15 m. 39·0 s. should read 3 h. 51 m. 39·0 s.

DREDGING OPERATIONS, LYTTLETON HARBOUR.

MARINERS and others are hereby notified that the Lyttelton Harbour Board’s dredger “Canterbury” will be working in the outer channel from Battery Point outwards.
The dredge will have six anchors out, and it is necessary that vessels should pass on the side on which two black balls are exhibited, and slow down to “dead slow.”
