And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.

SCHEDULE.

THE eastern side of Exeter Street, St. Albans, in the Canterbury Land District, City of Christchurch, situated between Andover Street and Carlton Street. As the said street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 47607, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

License authorizing the Heathcote County Council to erect Electric Lines within the Avonside Riding of the Heathcote County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this nineteenth day of January, 1920.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section two of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that no person shall lay, construct, place, put up, or use any electric line except under the authority of a license issued by the Governor-General in Council under that Act:

And whereas the Heathcote County Council (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), desires to erect lines within the area of supply as defined in the Schedule hereto, and hereinafter called “the area of supply,” and it is expedient accordingly to issue a license in respect thereof under the said section:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said section, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth, subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, and to the regulations made under section two of the aforesaid Act, dated the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, or any regulations hereafter made in substitution therefor, and hereinafter collectively referred to as “the regulations,” hereby authorize the licensee to erect and maintain electric lines for lighting, power, and heating purposes within the area of supply hereinafter described, such electric lines at present proposed to be erected being indicated by means of broken white lines shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 43134, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

SCHEDULE.

  1. AREA OF SUPPLY.

The area of supply comprises the Avonside Riding of the Heathcote County. Bounded generally by the Avon River on the north, the Avon River, Kerr’s Road, and Old New Brighton Road on the west, and the Bromley Riding on the south-east. As the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42900, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (c) and (d) of clause 3 of the regulations. The electrical energy shall be obtained from the Lake Coleridge supply.

  1. DATUM TEMPERATURE.

For the purpose of calculating the stresses as provided in clause 15 of the regulations, the datum temperature shall be taken as twenty degrees Fahrenheit.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

  1. SUBSTITUTION OF 30 FT. POLES FOR 26 FT. POLES.

The licensee shall, when required so to do by the Minister of Public Works, substitute 30 ft. poles for 26 ft. poles on the portion of Wainoni Road situated between the points marked B-B on plan P.W.D. 43134.

  1. CHARGES FOR ELECTRIC ENERGY.

The charge for electrical energy shall not exceed 6d. per unit for lighting purposes, and 3d. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes; provided that “lighting purposes” shall include the operation of motor generators for lighting purposes.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

This license shall, unless sooner determined in accordance with the provisions hereinafter expressed, continue in force for a period of forty-two years from the date hereof. Upon the expiry of the said term, or upon the sooner determination of this license by revocation or otherwise, all rights hereby granted to the licensee shall thereupon cease and determine; but such expiration or determination shall not relieve the licensee of any liability theretofore incurred under this license.

Public Service Act not to apply to certain Officer.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this nineteenth day of January, 1920.
Present: THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section four of the Public Service Act, 1912, it is enacted that nothing in that Act shall apply to any officer or class of officers to whom or to which, on the recommendation of and for special reasons assigned by the Commissioner, the Governor-General in Council declares that the said Act shall not apply:

And whereas the Commissioner has recommended that the said Act should not apply to the officer described in the Schedule hereto, for the special reasons assigned by him:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that nothing in the Public Service Act, 1912, shall apply to the officer described in the Schedule hereto.

Wanganui Acclimatization District defined.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint those parts of the said Dominion described in the Schedule hereto to be a district under and for the purposes of the said Act, and I do hereby declare that such district shall be known as the Wanganui Acclimatization District.

SCHEDULE.

WANGANUI ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.
All that area in the Wellington and Taranaki Land Districts bounded by a line commencing on the sea-coast at the mouth of the Waitotara River, and proceeding thence up the middle of that river to and up the middle of the Mangaone Stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 16, Block V, Nukumaru Survey District; thence to and along the said southern boundary to the trig. station on Wharekarangi; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 16 aforesaid to and up the middle of the Mangaone Stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 4 on plan No. 659, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence along the said south-eastern
